It looks like I'll be sporting the number 757.......little bit scary seeing all the names in a long list - nearly 1000 people are giving up their Sunday morning to run 13.1 Miles going at their limit and finishing exhausted - just makes you think about this great sport of ours - amazing really .....
I'll be in my BBC running vest - do come up and say Hi if you see me
entries are accepted on the day (it is not normally full beyond the limit) but this does involve queues and hassle and probably an earlier arrival than normal.
Thinking about doing this after having to drop out of the Silverstone Half today after half a mile, Hopefully my ankle can recover so I can do it to get a race in before FLM. How late can you enter online or is it best to go there on the day and enter then? Do they have bag storage, excuse the Q's, im new at this!
I think all late entries (online or post) have to collect their number on the day. Just read PWAC website - late defined as after 25th march. Can't get lost in the post this way. But you can still enter late to reserve your number. They do have bag storage available - race HQ is at a large car auction building so quite a lot of space available.
got my race pack today too! This is going to be my first half to say I am a bit worried would be an understatement! plus its my birthday on that day too and I have just got my pack and its says vet ladies boo hoo!
scrummy, the course is flat (apart from 4 small railway bridges so many people get good times) and it is also a very pretty route. The weather is warming up too so it should be a good birthday for you!
I entered this race for me for the half and my two kids for the fun run on 4/1/06. Defintely did not book late. It says let them know if you do not receive them my 25 March.
Tracey - The PWAC website says there were delays........... * 2006 Paddock Wood 1/2 Marathon as at Sunday 19th March * * Apologies but all numbers & race details were delayed in being sent out - they should be with you in the next few days *
you could always send an email if nothing arrives in the next few days - contact name on the website http://www.paddockwoodac.co.uk/
aww thanks for the kind words going to give it my best shot had a bit of a nasty run yesterday which has left me having doubts I can make it all the way around with out kelling over (sp??)
I had heard this was a good one to start on! I had toyed with the idea of doing hastings but I know there are some killer hills out there!
Well pleased to be joining vet ladies! at the ripe age of 35 on the day!
just a note - the weather is not warming up! (sorry to disagree, geoff). i did the tonbridge fun run yesterday and it was another day of icy gales. my three-year old boy did the 1km with his mum and is determined not to run ever again (i think he now realises that his parents are nazis, sending him out in a freezing field in his shorts when he would rather be watching balamory).
my 5km was only slightly better - running too fast to try and keep warm.
looking forward to getting home from work tonight to see if my PW pack has arrived. This was my first HM last year and it was much fun - the huge entry really makes it feel like an event (especially for us vets that will never do a full marathon). good crowds as well to cheer you on.
I am ever the optimist - especially with the weather!!! Then again everything is relative - consider the TW 1/2M and how cold that seemed, or even the Grizzly this year...
Ive not done this one before. Its coming of the back of Sussex Beacon (cold, wet and windy)and Hastings (just cold) last week. So looking forward to something a bit warmer and less hilly. Still, should have toughened me up a bit hopefully and perhaps a faster time is due?
good news for me,sons rugby festival is this weekend so my entry went in the post on saturday. kids are down for the fun run too.i remember how hot it was last year,12 days to go and i cant see the day being sunny let alone hot.
I remember how hot it was last year, I got quite a bit of sunburn. Seems we won't this year, weather forecast is showing top temp of 8 and rains till thursday!

No reason why you should not get in! SO long as your entry reaches them before the closing date.
Mr Postman has just delivered my race pack. Still waiting for the kids packs to arrive.
But you can still enter late to reserve your number.
