I ran this race for the first time this morning, in fact my first 10km race for two years due to injury.
Disappointed with my own time but a well organised, friendly and enjoyable event. At the start of the second lap I found myself alone running into a headwind so thats my excuse!
I saw someone taking photos, anyone have any details of where these can be found?
Had a great day, cracking course, great atmosphere, family did the 5k much faster than we'd expected and I crossed the line in 49:53 - my first sub-50 in five years of trying. I was euphoric. I know it was 49:53 as my watch said so, the finish line timer said so, the guy marking times at the finish pointed at me and said "53" to his mate. So imagine my confusion and disappointment when the website results now have me as 50:18 ...
I've just looked at the results and I don't know whats gone on there.
I clocked 39:17 on my watch and heard the time keeper call 17 as I crossed the line, but I've got a time of 37.40 and 26th place, I've been given someone else time or something, I should be 39.17 and 39th. I've looked at the photo's and I know the two men I finished ahead of and they were: 39 323 Javies Copley 00:39:20 40 196 Andrew Boardman Stourbridge R C 00:39:21.
As it happens I've sent an e-mail to the organisers.
My time won't win any prizes but when I'm (and others) are trying to stake a place in club vets team for relays and the like, official race results are important. Thats why I'm annoyed.
There are a new set of results on http://racephotos.topcities.com/ and I'm in the right place now and 1 second faster. It looks like Damo is on there as well but unfortunatley Gary is still credited with 50:18.
Without wanting to start an argument, comments like "Sort it out South Cheshire Harriers! Organise a race properly or don't bother!!" are a bit over the top in my view. If there's anyone wants a set of results which are 100% it's the race organiser, never mind the runners.
There are some of you out there (naming no names of course) who seem to delight in causing problems at races - see www.ukresults.net/misc/annoy.html for some examples. I'm not saying that any of these things happened at this race BUT it only takes one person to change places with another in the funnel, or one person to duck out of the funnel before their number is taken to make the results inaccurate. I know this because I see it virtually every week and the problems are often caused by club runners who should know better.
Give the organisers some slack. Yes, it's annoying when it'e not right but it's not the end of the world!
Fair comment, I shouldn't let my frustration be aired in a public forum.
I organised the Trafford 10km race for several years and know all about the problems that can occur. I've shouted at runners to move down the line, where's your number, people running right past the finish line, dealt with rain smudged times and numbers, etc. We have issued 'provisional' results until it's all resolved

I did 41:41 on my watch and heard the timekeeper call out '41' when I crossed the line and someone else write down my number - 204

Many thanks for sorting it out quickly, I've sent an e-mail direct to SCH saying the same
