I haven't heard anything about a 2nd series this year. However, the first programme last year wasn't til around March I think, so perhaps we'll be surprised. Do any of the RFG runners from '06 know if there's another one this year?
Last year the RFG series had started by now, so looks like there definitely won't be a 2nd series this year.
However, I did see that last year's co-presenter Sally Gunnell is going to be running her first marathon at FLM07. Will be interested to see how she gets on. Any predictions for her finishing time? I haven't heard anything about her training or any target time but I'll guess 3:15.
Dean - Good to hear from you again. Glad to hear you are still running. Any plans for another marathon?
Freemers - you are right, Sally Gunnell did the Sussex Beacon HM recently in 1:40. I must have underestimated the difficulty of switching from what is almost a sprint event (400m hurdles) to HM/marathon, even for an Olympic Gold medallist!
I did try for this years FLM via the ballot but was unsuccessful I'm afraid but I definitely have another inside me! Maybe Edinburgh next year hopefully.
Next race for me is the Blaydon Races which is quite a large 10k "up north" and the GNR in September. Might try and squeeze some others in between. I think there also may be a triathlon struggling to get out of me as well although swimming in the open water isn't quite that appealing yet!
Running went "backwards" for a while as I got a bad dose of "man flu" so was off the roads for about 6 weeks and when I started again it felt like I'd never ran before! But I'm getting back into the groove and enjoying it again. I try not to beat myself up with times - I'm more of a steady away runner. My aim though is to do the Blaydon races in under 50 minutes & GNR in under 2 hours - I'll be more than happy with that
