Morning all. Ok run this morning. 4 miles with a bit of walking in the last mile. Was very windy but it didn't rain which was good. Is raining now. Happy racing everyone.
morning - snow starting to thaw now, always hate it when everything gets slushy and the dogs end up muddy and wet. We went out in the woods for a short run, it ended up being very short, just a couple of miles but lots of stick throwing for the four-footed ones. Oz does most of the retrieval, Shani spends her time barking and chasing after him.
Hope you all had a great Xmas. I've been ignoring the computer for a while )
Just got back from Millennium Runs On 10K. Going by my Garmin results (clock time will be slower since I started well at the back), I have a PB of 69 minutes 22 seconds. I also had some other landmarks during the race: first mile in 10 mins 8 seconds, which is fastest mile ever, 5k at around 32 mins matches my PB for a 5k race, 5 miles at 55 mins 24 sec is 4.5 mins faster than the 5 miles I raced in Bedford last August. Since recent training runs have been really poor (5k taking 38-42 mins!!!) I'm really really pleased.
Younger daughter did the 2k fun run as her first event after 5 weeks of runnning and managed it in under 13 minutes so she is feeling pleased too.
she did 5k Race for life in the summer and I would not let her do further than that until she is a lot older
strictly she shouldn't go that far but it is on grass and she takes the odd walking break and she is fit and has good stamina from athletics on the track and football and she has a very good understanding of pacing herself for one so young (she did the 5k in a very sensible 35 mins)
We are about to watch Dinner for One, a 15-minute black and white English comedy sketch which has been shown on German TV every New Year's Eve since 1963! It's become a tradition not only here but apparently is now shown in 20 different countries. Funny that, isn't it? Don't think it's ever been shown in England, we hadn't seen it until we came here! NYE wouldn't seem the same without the annual quarter-hour of belly laughs.
