Really nervous now just bought in an extra family pack of toilet roll, look out for me at mudchute, will have my forum name on the front of my Barrow Runners vest (showing in my profile picture). Should get there hopefully at about 11:45 - 12am if my running goes to plan so give us a cheer.
Cas - i am in pen 8 at red start. look out for my pink bunches and come and say hi. if i miss you again, i hope you have a fab day and enjoy every minute. as we run nearlly exactly the same pace i can't believe we won't see each other!
I'm headed off to the train station very soon to make my merry way to London.
Reminder - I'll be wearing a white cap, black gloves and a green Macmillan vest with KATIE on the front. My number is 28961, and if it's going well all I'd like is a really big cheer. If I'm flagging I might fancy some jelly babies too! Aiming for 8min/mile if the legs willing...
Good luck to all the runners, and I hope the day isn't too long, tiring and damp for all the supporters. Looking forward to seeing you...
Martin, sorry we didn't see you. We had our big Group 2 sign up but there was lots going on and it is on a blind bend so might have been difficult to see us.
Had a great day, if not rather wet and tiring (although not too fragile!!), but really enjoyed cheering everybody on.
You all deserve a bloody good rest now. You are stars!!
Back safe and sound- 4:25:01- so just snuck in under my hope of 4 and a half- what a day- what a crowd- failed to see you at Mudchute but felt the love as I saw the other banners- hope everyone had a great day- have lost my toe nails! NICE.
Sorry I missed you too. I didn't even see Mudchute, let alone you, but I'm not recognised for my powers of observation. Well I may have let you down, but you didn't let me down. I ran up to the 19 mile point thinking "hurray, I've got some cheerleaders to look for soon", so you kept me going for longer than if I'd found you, What's that saying about it's better to travel in hope than to arrive? Anyway, I think I managed about 4H 10M and I ran all the way non-stop. Thanks for weeks of encouragement.
3:27:50 - sub 3:30 like I hoped for, 11 minutes off my PB and I finished in the top 500 ladies too :-)
Thanks for the cheer and wave - you were the mid-point in between my two family cheering points at 14 and 22 miles, and you gave me a massive boost to keep running strong. Marathons seem so much more manageable when you carve them into smaller chunks...
Thank you soooo much for being there today - it was what kept me going from Tower Bridge! Finished in 5:48 (not a PB but close to my only other time of 5:41).
Congrats to many amazing times and PBs - well done everyone!
THANK YOU!!THANK YOU!!THANK YOU!!! and did I mention THANK YOU!! a Mars bar has never tasted so good. You really helped this pink fairy come through the wall!. Not my personal best, but hey who cares, what a wonderful day and THANK YOU for standing out there in the rain supporting us all.
didnt even see Mudchute - dont remember a lot of the Docklands apart from fantastic supporters screaming out my name - sorry i missed you all, but survived and got round 22 secs under 5 hours !!!
You guys are AMAZING!!! Thank you SO much for being supporters and whoever it was that handed me the yellow and green jellies - YOU ARE MY SAVIOUR!!! just what i needed they gave me so much energy i nearly danced the rest of the way!! i so did not know what to expect, it beinf my first time, and now realise how very important it is to have a friendly face and some encouragement along the way...thank you!!

this is gutting..did the run not go well?
:-(
To all those who have not been through this before.
From experience it's very normal to feel like a bloated stiff legged slug at this stage. The worst I feel before the better I seem to run on the day.
