  • BR- If I'm fit enough and uninjured at that point, but not fit enough to seriously race then I'll be happy to do that. I'll let you know in the run-up, if I'm in sub 34 shape I'd probably be ready to race, but if I think I'm in 35/36 shape then I'll see if I can get you maybe 3/4 of the way around on the target pace.

  • Whether I do a storming pb or run like a donkey, it'd be down to your training, Micksta, and everyone's watching hee hee!

  • LW - curry is good for me:-)

    Don't have my number yet.

Oh yeah, need to enter don't I?

  • I suggest picniccers all bring their own food, LW2. Saves fights when I eat all the pies... ;-) Looks like BR will be getting a curry take out!

We entered ages ago - no number yet - shall I enquire or wait a little longer?
  • PANTMAN:
I think Morrisons actually do a Curry Pie! so I may just get some, will save arguments on the day ;p

I got my number last week, maybe if your number is not with you this week, you should contact the race organiser?

    JENNYD:
Coach Micksta does not train donkeys! ;)

Your going to whoop your previous PB into touch big-time!
  • Just like you, Micksta..?

Mind you, I can't talk. I'm visiting the track desperately trying to get these old legs used to running fast again. A third consecutive 10K at HBO might be a bridge too far this time around, me thinks...

BR - When are you coming down? Can you e-mail or message me soon about it? Ta.
  • Did anyone who is doing this event do the Woodbridge 10k Sunday?
  • Okay, update, at current looks like I'll probably be running but might not be fit, so odds on I'll just go out and do my best, maybe go for a mid 34s clocking. Not sure, definitely not in the shape to go close to 33 again, but would sitll like to have a decent performance.
  • BRYN R.
Pace me around if you like, at the moment mid to low 34mins sounds very nice indeed ;)

  • MIcksta - Just don't get beaten buy a guy who was 14.5st in March - that would be very embarassing... ;-)

BR - Is Hilly racing? Is she considering it as a training run? Would appreciate a pacer for a family member, if so...
  • PANTMAN:
IF I get beaten by a guy who weighed 14.5stone in March, then so be it! means the big guy was the better runner on the day! :)

Im expecting a close race between us guys actually that being, myself, BR, You and BRYN all pretty much together until the closing stages.

By the way, give yourself more credit, your doing very well at the moment going by Hildenbourough.

  • MICKSTA, I predict you'll be pretty much ahead of me until the 3k stages...

  • Yep - will be a great race, Micksta - looking forward to it. Hope everyone is picniccing afterwards too - will be great to all meet up after as well.

I suggest we all meet up at the cafe area (by the lake) in Hatfield Forest - there is a car park there. Easy enough to find - only a few miles from race. If we leave after prizes/funrun then we'll all be there at similar times.
  • PANTMAN:
Sounds a good idea for a meeting place! I better follow someone though, I have a bad record with finding places, and getting lost in hatfield is the last thing I need to be doing!!! :)

  • Sounds like a good idea pantman, except I have never met any of you, how will I know who you all are?
  • Many of us will be wearing race T-shirts, I imagine.

Micksta - Hatfield Broad Oak and Hatfield Forest are nowhere near Hatfield! Look on the AA site and get a map first! Hatfield forest is within a mile of Takeley and within a few miles of race HQ.
  • Number arrived this morning.

Only one prize per category? Chuff me, on Weds we did a local 10k where the prizes went down to the 20th senior male and a lengthy vets prize list as well.

    Stingy or what?

Mind you not everywhere's as generous as Yorkshire...
  • Pants, when are you going to make an appearance down at the club? Did Micksta tell you he plods along with me now!
  • nrg-bnrg-b ✭✭✭
Sorry but I won't be racing HBO.

However, I may drop by to spectate.....& I may have my digital video-camera....& I might be analysing running styles....& I could post them on here afterwards ;-)))

Can someone give me an accurate reference (eg google map link) to :-
    - the Cafe (near the lake??)
    - the course start/finish?

    Ta v. much.

  • Looks like a forum all stars outing! Would be great to maybe meet some of you before or afterwards. I'll be #361 and nowhere near 34 minutes!
  • Hi Humph, I also think it's going to be great to finally put some names to faces. And, I also will be no where near a 34 minute finish, probably nearer 41 mins.
  • RichardWRichardW ✭✭✭
Well, I did 53 minutes and some small change at Wheathampstead last Sunday. It
don't get much better than that these days. Anyone want to admit to being even
    slower?
