Shades did 80 miles with several hours to spare and went off for a shower and a nap. I er, had a bad night and ended up trudging round and did something like 75 miles. Definitely a pw. I'll make a list later on of all the clothes I got through. I ran out of socks and someone gave me a new pair which was wonderful. Then when we finished we had to rush the presentation cos there was a track and field league meeting starting not much later and there was one hammerthrower who wasn't a good shot. So we needed to get the tents dwon pretty quickly!! Got to the travel lodge just outside Hull with Shades, had lunch and a 3 hour nap, woke up, had dinner and went back to bed. Felt fine this morning. Got home just now. I was thinkng, I feel fine. Perhaps I could go for a run tomorrow. Then I got out of thecar and remembered what my legs felt like!!!
Congrats to Shades and UH on great runs. Eleven hours of rain in an event like this doesn't even bear thinking about. It takes true guts to even line up for this type of event. At some stage I'll hopefully do one of these races and in the meantime all I can do is sit back in wonder and admire the courage of people like Shades and UH who've actually taken on such a monster.
Except I'll be taking daughter to dancing, collecting daughter from dancing, tacking sons + friend to youth club and collecting sons from youth club. Then there's all that packing to sort out and a tent to dry out! Shades was telling me you might be interested in doing a 24 hour yourself?

Sounds like an interesting time was had by all. I'd imagine it would be OK to treat yourself to a rest day Hammie.
