Pre-race pasta...

So all the people on the FLM forum are talking about pasta parties the night before, and I guess I'll be consuming vast quantities of the stuff too on the 12 April. But I'm a little confused as to how it all works, and if/how it's applicable to my midweek training?

Say I'm up early tomorrow and hit the road before six o'clock (which I will be), does eating pasta (or some sort of carbs anyway) this evening really give me the energy to run in the morning?

  • Worth a try, cns. If you plan to do an early morning run and won't have time to fuel up beforehand, an evening meal full of low glycaemic index and relatively low fibre carbs (pasta is ideal) and a substantial bedtime snack might be just what you need.
