BTW, pix. I won't be doing Blackpool in any shape or form due to work, but following on from your fine motivational marathon words I have (sort of) committed to doing the Robin Hood marathon in the Autumn.
Afternoon all, Just popped in to say hello.. haven't been around much this week - been working like a trojan! And eating like a.... dunno what.. but have been eating for England..oh dear! Anyway, off to work now. Hope you've all been better than I have!!! Take care. M xxx
Is it really quiet on here today or what...or just for the last 45 mins. Been lurking but noone to talk to Boo Hoo!!!...and I've been really good too!!!!!
Hello darlings. Am I glad to see you lot again! Bloody work ISP has been down all day and I've just managed to get a connection. The upside is that I got through morning surgery quite efficiently, tidied my room, did lots of paperwork while waiting for my minor op patients, then had an unscheduled 5-mile...well, the first three miles were definitely low-impact jogging, but I think I was running by the end. Lovely!
Glad you're learning to love those lunges, Iain. I'm hoping that Mr V-rap will be home in time for me to do a BodyPump class tonight. That's two nights in a row I've let him go out. I must be getting soft.
Muscles that are going to pump iron need fuel, so I've had a couple of Frusli bars (Kevin's right, they're not very nice) and my share of the box of chocs at reception.
Annual leave, Hippo? Sounds good. Or is it for thesis-related reasons?
It's wonderful, Lamb, and I enjoyed every step of the run and felt I could have kept going at that pace for ever, but it was also an act of folly because if I do the rest of my planned run this week I'll have jumped from 28.5 miles to 35 or 36 miles in one week. And I don't want to cut either Sunday's long run or tomorrow's 7-mile timed run.
Maybe I'll just write it down as a "walk" on my schedule, then it will be OK.
Got to fit in time for making "heartbread biscuits" tonight - shortbread (some plain, some chocolate) cut into one particular shape. The children want something to take to school to celebrate the start of half-term.
Hippo, don't deny the brats their fun. Didn't you heckle runners when you were a schoolkid?
Nah, me neither. But last time I got aggravated heckling from a crowd of schoolkids, I just ran straight at the little b*ggers. They stepped aside smartish and their mates laughed.
No lunges today Vrap - most of the instructors can't get through the lot in one hour and have to dash off to do other classes. It was a choice of shoulders or lunges, and given my legs get plenty of workout, I voted for shoulders!
Hippo - just KILL the little sods! Get a stick on rhino horn and charge the buggers!!
Vrap..last time I was heckled I ran straight at them. They didn't believe me and didn't move. Their faces when I crashed into them and sent them flying had me smiling for days.
Hippo/Benz.......I can't tell you often enough you are not that bad. However I am reading Lighten Up by Pete Cohen on Bunes recomendation. I think it is brilliant. For the moment at least it is challenging all me attitudes towards food and I really don't feel like overeating...I think. I'm so used to counting calories or points that just doing what my body tells me is scary and it will take a few weeks before I know if it's working but I can honestly think it might!!!!! Watch this space.....and why don't you give it a go...if you haven't already that is......
