I haven't got a clue and financially will be winging it to get accomodation in time. I have afriend in Germany so I might book and try and stay any over or under days with her but I don't think she lives close to Roth
Muenchen is still a fair way away from Roth. How many days are you planning on? We weren't thinking of many extra days off work, but depending on when you come over we could maybe work something out. You already know we live during the week an hour or so from Frankfurt, we're also not much further from Hahn, you could doss down in one of our spare bedrooms and then ride down with us in the van to Roth for the weekend (about 3 hours). Alternate possibility - we have another house about 60 miles from Muenchen, so if you fly there we could maybe pick you up and take you back there for a night, it's not fully furnished but does have a comfortable spare sofa bed in the living room. Then it's only about an hour up to Roth from there. Either way would work. Then all you need do is book a B&B or something over race weekend. How does that sound?
If you coming over for longer than the weekend, you're still welcome of course but you'll then have to put up with two large furry dogs. They will be going to stay with our mate Juergen over the weekend but not much longer than that, don't want to pay too many days board as they'll be 'going to jail' at his place several times over next summer!
just seen it's near Nuernburg? That's as close to Frankfurt (direct flight) as Muenchen. I'll probably fly over just for the weekend and stay in a cheapie hotel. I'll come up with a provisional plan next week.
Yes ther is I tried that one on one of my club members since we sort of nearly discussed picking the same race and doing some training together but he seems to a have wimped out - not of ironman just of going with me
yes indeed it is - I didn't realise zuppy's a firefighter or I would have said. They've been doing this for the past few years. He should have a good chance. Foggy's at present doing MOD tests to become a firefighter on their imminent return to UK.
ok - that's it. Team entry is in the post today and I transferred the money yesterday (Jo if you like you could give your share to Doug next month in Dubbers)
My individual entry is already listed - but for some unknown reason I'm shown as Welsh!!!! ASked 'em to correct it.
glad you liked it SL - just realised I said next month, Doug's coming over in Nov, not for the marathon, it's one race too many! I'll nmake sure and give him your contact details.
it doesn't usually fill up until after Christmas - but tell him there's already about 20 firefighters signed up, included 2 women. Maybe that will get him moving.
Incidentally there are some hotels and pensions located right in Roth town just a few minutes walk from T2 and the finish area.
sorry - that's German getting mixed up with the English again - a 'Pension' is accommodation ranking between a hotel and a B&B. Comfortable and clean but with no frills.

Its North anyway about halfway btw Frankfurt and Dusseldorf - well I fly into Dusseldorf and Sue tends to fly from Franfurt
Was planning on getting a couple of days booked near Roth as soon as finances allow and then pad out at Sue's if I can't extend my stay in Roth
