Well just spoke to Flybe - they can't guarantee that my bike will travel with me, but the guy reckoned he's not heard of anyone getting their bike kicked off.
Still - I'll be at the front of the queueueuueeue both ways. Although depends on how the race goes - may not want the bike back.
Plum - comparing the weather in FF lately to what it was last year - its muych cooler at the moment. Phewww !
snap - 1:40 is exactly what I'm aiming at in Roth. I swam 40mns for 1500 in the season's first Oly 2 weeks ago and that was in a pool, 8 of us in one lane. So hopefully in OW with a wetsuit, straight down one side of the canal and back up the other, plus race adrenaline, I should be a little bit faster.
Roth website is quoting the water temp in the canal currently at 17.6C, so no fear there about a wetsuit ban, never has been a no-wetsuit swim in its over 20-year history.
You see you fools - I always championed Roth as being the best IM distance race in Europe. Who decided we should do that flipping tropical paradise that is Frankfurt ? Thats insane !!
2 big rainstorms here, yesterday afternoon and again this morning. The air has been very muggy all week and the temperature swinging from 20c up to almost 30c and back down. No telling what it will be like for IMDE.
Q: Will wetsuits be allowed? A: Yes, up to a water temperature of 24.0°C. It can be assumed that this temperature will not be exceeded and wetsuits will be allowed. Yet, the final ruling will be announced in the briefing.
Its not been as hot as it was last year in Frankfurt - so cant see another non wetty swim.

............................ and getting a "meal"
I have faith in you plum
Surely there should be no talk of cut offs etc?
A whole year to bring your swimming to sub 2 hour standard is more than enough.
So stop moaning and get those last few hard weeks of training done!
I'm still a crap swimmer though. Even after three years of this faff.
(ta IW - I like that information !)
Hey Plumster - temps are looking better at the mo :
http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?world=0052
Thats if you ignore the 29degree high today I guess.
It'll be a wetsuit swim at least. After that we should be used to whatever the weather wants to throw at us !
"Website IM Germany: "Aktuelle Wassertemperatur Langener Waldsee 12.6.2007 - 24,5°C "
This would mean no wetsuits for the swim (as no wetsuits allowed above 24 Celsius)
what times are team PluGie looking for without wetsuits this year?
I'm sure thats measured in the shallows. the IMDE site was saying last week that wetsuits should be allowed.
<crosses fingers for more rain>

Er Sub 13 with wetsuits I hope ?
