Am hoping to do this silly event of 100k in 30 hours i think with fellow forumites but unsure as to what i should be doing training wise ( am hoping to be in a team that trots it) Any sensible suggestions greatly appreciated TA!
It's probably best to just get out and try to do plenty of long walking over the sort of terrain you'll be covering in the event. That way you can decide what sort of footwear you need too. My own walking experience suggests that running fitness does help, but 100k is a long, long way.
The people on the promotional pics seem to be wearing trainers, EP.
As for training, it's going to be long walks carrying backpacks and practising with the map and compass, and I'm sure we can do some team training events closer to the time. Weekend in Malvern in June, anyone? Or other ideas?
