Scorchio yesterday (as my post-gardening neck and arms can demonstrate). Scorchio today. I love summer Unfortunately I'll only see it through the closed and tinted windows of my workplace today
Had an interesting experience doing the midnight marathon on Saturday. Let's say that the distance was not the challenge! Being off road in the dark was tricky and the woods were downright scary!! Proud of my limpettes for doing it as well. I took a flying fall down one particularly steep and rocky path... It's only thanks to my natural athleticism that I didn't break a hip!!
I love offroad at night...reminds me I need to recharge my head torch..
Back yesterday from the Cotswolds and off on Friday for 10 days travelling ...Liverpool Nottingham peak district...Yorkshire dales and then lake district
Busy busy bee at work in the scorchio, then to the chiropractor (deffo noticing an improvement), then to the beach for a barbie with a gang of pals for a few drinks, sossigs and memories of my Dad. It's 25 years today since he died, I'm ok, just was having a little remember down on the beach, thinking how he'd have liked it
Hope everyone is well and happy (and good news on not breaking that hip Limper!).
Oooh, hollibobs? Nice Meldy Moo, will Syb be there? I do love her, she's so effervescent! Have a super time.
I spent the evening last night putting in days annual leave...I have 6 weeks to use up and nothing to do, so I've divvied up the days so won't work a full month after August until April next year, so that's nice. I'm battling with the new job still, last week was good though I had three good days and one not too good...but I'll take 75% positive!
Besides that, not much going on at this end of the world. We are awaiting the date for Mummy Funkin to go into hospital for her stem cell transplant. Was meant to be this weekend but there are still four people ahead of her, so they've told her no chance.
Oooh thanks FeFe, I saw it advertised, I have a couple of days off this week, so will have a watch
Currently watching the gymnastics, after watching the sailing down at the sailing club. I do love the Limpets - but I'm not liking the commentators on a lot of the sports. My favourite moment was yesterday when Christine (gymnastics commentator) asked Beth Tweddle about her opinion on something and Beth replied, "Oh I don't know, I was watching something else" hehe.
On my 6th attempt I have worked out an itinerary for next years holiday that I am happy with...just got to see if hubby can get 4 and a half weeks off now...
he had already mentioned that he would want a month off next year....its only a day or 2 more
I have deliberately not looked too hard at the Olympic scheduling as I am at work for most of it and would be to upset at missing bits, i shall watch what I can, although the mens and womens tri is on my calendar ;-)
The BBC seem to get better at offering more video streams with each new Limpet games, but trying to find stuff on IPlayer is a bit of a faff.
Cycling co-commentator on the women's road race was a bit tooth-pully in terms of stating the bleedin' obvious, but to be fair the video feed was a bit all over the place and the advertised gaps towards the end were off.
Seren, sounds like a nice break. My Belgian colleague (back in the day) tried to explain to me the logic behind a 3 week summer holiday being an absolute minimum. My boss back then I think had over 50 days holiday per year (plus bank hols).
Comments

Wednesday looks to be a scorcher
Flippin busy at the office ...
I only work 2 days a week.... Wednesday is of course one of them

Better step up the border patrols if both Lee & Seren heading my way ;-)
Glorious sunny day here, would have had breakfast on the patio, if there wasn't a dumper truck & mini digger in the way
I wont quite reach you Dave... will have a bus out to daleman before walking back to coniston
Close enough Dalemain is only 15 minutes away.....
Most people run away from Coniston
I know its close.last year I ran past keswick on my way to dalemain...but the long way

I think Meldy is being a training machine, if I've been following the plot correctly.
I am very happy I work in an air conditioned office- less so that I had to pop out to a non-conditioned one to give training this morning.
Looks like it'll be a hot one for the Outlaws this weekend.
Glad to hear the neck's on the mend Mrs F.
Morning all
Amazing thunderstorms over the mountains yesterday,
Meldy and training machine ? Nope doesn't compute
Great news Mrs F
I'll be thinking of the Outlaws this weekend, from the comfort of an easy chair
Nope, not computing
off to Les Stables, see what all the fuss is about ..
outlaw swim first on Sunday, hang around til the rest of the team have finished, drive home, work 2 days and fly off on Wednesday ...busy few days

Hope Outlaw was fun fun fun!
she will be Mrs F - I shall report back
Have a very early alarm call in the morning and I am at w*rk until 2200 which is a little unfortunate!
I like taking small chunks of leave to lessen the working week, most satisfying
Massive vibes for Mummy F x
Morning Wingers...
hope all good with everyone, have a good weekend
Waves at everyone in general.
Last aquathlon of the local series tonight and tomorrow I shall mostly be parkrunning.
Gingers crossed for Mummy F.
I'm home this weekend. The first in a long time.spent all 5 weekends in july away and most of the ones in June....
glad to have a quiet August
Morning team,
looks like slightly less scorchio than yesterday.
