Melds...how long is a piece of string? Problem started when I was 16 weeks pregnant, which is earlier than average, and for most it resolves after having the baby but 11 weeks on and I'm not seeing any improvement. Apparently I have to be patient...
I have a very lovely friend who used to live not too far from Hobbiton who alerted me to the presence of the garden centre and I remembered that UC had a pechant for gardening. I did briefly have an olive tree and a banana (tree, vine?) from said garden centre until I killed them with my incompetence.
My mother is here. I'm traumatised. For "something to do" today we did go to see HMS Victory and the Mary Rose. Very spooky! It's odd as I remember it so clearly when it was raised from the seabed, I was in top juniors and we watched it in school. I enjoyed it all a lot more than I thought I would.
I finally exorcised a demon or two this weekend. I started and finished an OW swim event after being a serial DNS/DNFer for over three years. This has earned me the accolade of 'Swimmer Of The Week' by my swim club which I am rather chuffed about
Jr also did the swim in the same wave as me which was nice til he put the hammer down after 50m and sped off into the distance.. Then he did Survival Of The Fittest in Cardiff yesterday. I hate him sometimes
My weekend to work is New Year weekend (I'm meant to do the third weekend of every four in a rota)...which no doubt means I'm going to end up working Crimble. I'd really like to be able to do the Crimbo parkrun...if I am off, no doubt it will be dinner at Funkin Towers, as I can't exactly make D's mum do it post stem cell transplant. Not least 'cos she has the energy of a lettuce leaf, which isn't expected to get much better any time soon...I could be tempted to go the same way as you Schmunks!
Seen, we have a reject magazine here too (not me, I'm never doing another mara). Hope everyone is well and happy.
Seren - could do the swim but I'll stick with the tried and tested park run, good this year that we can do different ones on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, have a feeling I'll be on my own for the first!
No reject magazine here, no congrats one either, saving my London entry for when I get a GFA time. Might put some efforts into trying for the time at the Brum one next October if I get an entry for that as a Crimbo pressie, not overly keen on paying the £55 from my own pocket
Husband and I are spending our first Christmas alone together this year. Poor planning meant that as newlyweds last year, we hosted his family. We are very much looking forward to holing ourselves up for a couple of days, only going outside with our thermal mugs full of mulled wine to walk our dogs. There was some attempt to persuade us to join the wider family but we've held firm to our desire for some private time.
I also received a rejection mag today. No mag either way yet for husband.
Didn't get a rejection mag.... Then again didn't enter...
think we might be on our own for Christmas, all the Sprogs seem to be with partners families this year, and my mum is at my sisters. Going to resist a Christmas Day splash in the lake, but might borrow Mousicles thermal mugs for a walk
Sadly Meldy, where we're going on NYE is fully booked this year, strangely it's fully booked next year too and we don't even know where we're going, odd huh?
Oh we've seen MP, even Funkin enjoyed it (& he doesn't really like musicals), I thought it was fabulous! I bet it's even better now, we saw it years ago. That sounds a lovely NYE
I've seen it before and I loved it. I have decided The Ginger One needs to get some culture in his life so thought MP might be an easy one for a beginner. I thought I'd leave Les Mis until I am certain he can sit still for 90 mins ????
I think the only musical I could sit through would be Bugsy, as long as the cast was the same as in the film, which I'm guessing may be a tad difficult as they've probably grown a bit since then.
I think the alternative to taking Mr Barley to Les Mis is for you and Mrs P and anyone else who likes that sort of thing to go to watch while we go to the pub

I've loads of invites and probably on call NYE Meldy Moo, do you want one of mine?
Sadly Meldy, where we're going on NYE is fully booked this year, strangely it's fully booked next year too and we don't even know where we're going, odd huh?
On NYE, I am going to see Mary Poppins, have a meal in a posh restaurant, then spend the night in a spa hotel
