TT, what's in dartmouth that you can't find your way to run this torment?
This is yet another of Mixy's races that I have been promising to run year on year - they did have some great pics on their website, but not being much of a browser I havn't found them this year!!
It will be Mak's friend Spice. Mak has retired from racing although he and Spice still train with me. He's OK on LSR but pick the pace up these days and he's had enough by 4-5 miles.
MF, I have two labradors, neither have much of a clue!! - One of them sets of like a nutter and drags me around - begins to tire after 3 miles or so...
... the other one thinks exercise is for other dogs!!!
See you there Mak's friend etc. I think Fluffy Poodle will be doing this one too!! I'll be right at the end, no doubt, after 4 races in 3 weeks. And I can't even eat cakes ...but I love trying to run this race - one day I'll manage it properly!!!
Its not too bad - I'm just not that good! It can't be too bad as I keep coming back for more, so no memorable hills stick in the memory apart from the climb up to the King Alfred's tower. If you've done the Grizzly, this is 'gently undulating'
I don't have 'fell'shoes e.g. Walshes , but I'll wear trail shoes.
The course is all off-road except the first 200 yards. After that it is gravel tracks, grassy fields and some tracks that can become a bit boggy. A couple of the down hills need shoes with good grip, and ordinary trainers won't be really good enough unless you slow down a bit.
The 5 day forecast looks like it will be dry until the weekend, so it shouldn't be too wet.
I entered on-line and got sent a map, did any of you get it?

...I'll see if I can find out more..
And the cakes aren't usually too burnt (anyway if you don't want your Spice will eat it).
My time last year was 68 minutes (and these days I usually do 48m for a 10k)
See you there!
Im bringing the apprentice to blood him before the Stickler
Trail shoes??
Boffin: I should be easy to spot. Brown and white dog with me at the start. Brown and brown dog with me at the end.

(only joking)
The hills are enough to make the race challenging, but not bad enough to put slower less talented runners like me off!
It's a good fun event for the back runners and a good course for faster, more serious runners!
MF, do you were your fell shoes for this event?
