More UK rave runs please!

Ive been having a look at the gallery-some fantastic photos here
but nearly all of them are abroad!!!!!

thee are some fab places in the UK, come on your photographers-lets be having those!

  • here here! Don't worry if they're not perfect, as long as they contain:

    -- one runner
-- a setting that makes you want to go out and run!

    Sean, RW
  • If i was any good at photography-id have taken some pics of lincolnshire on Sunday
  • nice photos, but why do some of them have the same notes with them?

  • I keep meaning to get a couple sent in but it's just a case of getting a camera up to where I run. Will do my best though.
  • I'm too scared of winning a marathon at the North pole - eek! ;-)
  • I went out on the hills last Thursday to get a photograph. Trouble is I couldn't find someone to take the photo, so I used the timer. The timer is only 10 seconds. So had to press the button, dash down the rocky track, turn round and time it so that the camera clicked just at the right time. Some of the photos had half a runner, the back of the runner, no runner, runner in mid trip. 51 attempts later, it finally worked, but it was nearly dark by then.
  • Pjnk
    very, VERY good point;)
  • Good interval session there, HH!

Gosh - I missed this (note to self: look at the homepage more often). Must have a pootle somewhere scenic at the weekend. :o)
  • (second note to self: Show Mr Nessie photos of people running on honeymoon.....)
  • Happycat, ahem... just getting those notes fixed...
  • (I didn't even know Bath had a seaside!)
  • Global warming Hollywood, global warming.
  • Come on down to Sunny Cornwall PH - it's a lot nicer now the kids have gone back to school! Some of my favourite long runs are on the West Penwith moors - think Poldark, abandoned Tin Mines, stone circles, the Atlantic Ocean...

Must get someone to follow me at the weekend and take a snap or two.
  • BB
I shall be visiting you for the Cornish marathon
  • Great stuff - see you there!
  • I sent in a picy of me running my the river Thames in the winter last year.....jolly nice!
  • Got one of me running local beach, taken by hubby but its not flattering. Am hot an beetroot like. But its lovely. Blue skies. Might just put it under a different name!!!
  • OOPs got my dog in it is that allowed?. Maybe should just take the dog, she is the better runner out of both of us after all.
  • i like this one of north downs poppy fields and yours truly
  • Excellent piccie Potting Shed!!

I have to say I prefer the UK ones - we have such lovely wild lush / barren amazing scenery - there cant just be one wimnner!!!!

I have some fab pics, but not ONE with required ONE RUNNER!!!!

eg. Cornish M, North coast, Fal estuary - & loads with ONE BIKE!!! (If I'm cycling somewhere scenic, I always make sure my bike's in there in the corner / in the shade ....

  • I really hope that RW don't make it a photography competition. There are quite a few photos entered so far that are defo more photography than rave run.
  • Will be getting mrs F up at scary o'clock on Sunday and forcing her onto a bike with her camera so we can enter.

btw: who has to run in the marathon? The runner or the photographer?
  • I was about to dig out the camera until i saw the prize! No way would i do a marathon, so little point entering!
Could they not have given a consolation prize of say any half or 10k in the country?
  • I might send in a photo but I defo don't want to win. Am struggling with 1/2 mara training this year.

    ((potting shed)) fab piccie.

I agree there are some fab places in britain to run. More british ones please.
  • I thought it WAS a photography competition.

My fave raves so far have been:
    Dorset coast
    North Cornish Coast
    South Cornish Coast
    Pembrokeshire Coast
    Alderney loop including coast
    Spot a trend anyone?

The difference between a run with good scenery and a great run I think is the way in which the scenery seems to change around every corner. A single photo cannot capture that. What does Sean want?

    Oh. One more.

Race the train, Tywyn. Brilliant. Organisms of ecstacy.

  • I'm going to a rave at the weekend. I'll try to get a photo when we get chased by the old bill.
  • What a strange collection of photos. I've not been reading RW for as long as some of you (about 7 or 8 years) but since it started in 2003 (from memory) I always loved the Rave Run page because I though that it was of a runner on her/his favourite local training run. An opportunity for that runner to show off a little piece of local beauty. Something to make the rest of us think "Cor, I wouldn't mind having that view on my regular evening route".

    But no.

On here, "rave run" clearly means something different. It seems to imply "send us a picture of you running. Hang on. No. Don't worry about actually running. If you're wearing your kit and standing near some tourist beauty spot - that'll do..."
  • ..and no, before you ask, I haven't sent in a foto yet. But if there's a photo competition called "Rave Races", then I have plenty, even back to a school XC race circa 1978!!

  • If I enter, can I have a place in somewhere like New Your instead ? I don't really want to go to the North Pole.
