In fact - after a quick google - naaah - not up yet - but should be on here :
http://www.helsbyrun.freeuk.com/Races/HalfMarathon/index.htm
The website hasn't been updated for months, and there is no response to emails.
Has anybody who ran it last year had an application form yet?
Are there any Helsby Runners who could please shed some light...?
I am not a Helsby RC member, but I have seen this race on offical events lists - it's down for Sunday 21st January 2007. Like you, I keep checking the site for the forms as this race fills up very quickly.
Come on Helsby - put something out !!

I have noticed over the last 5 years when I've run it that the motorists on the country lanes are getting less and less accommodating towards the runners.

Nahhh mate, you better be in 1:16 shape ;-) as I'm already in 79 shape at the moment... ;-)

P.S nothing better than a bit of bull to enter the winter season ;-0. This race was a target of mine as is the Village Bakery... and both were going to be 1:16 targets!
Theres a £500.00 prize if that will make you run quicker !!!
My forms filled in and ready to post.
just ran a pb in the Macclesfield half last weekend (bit hilly) so should definitely run a faster time at Helsby
Helsby is not flat. It is generally undulating with a fairly stiff climb in miles 8, 9 & 10, but in return you get a good downhill in the last two miles.
That said, it is a PB course - my best 3 half's are all at Helsby strangely enough. I have just sent my cheque off, so I will be there again.
Chester is the half to do if you want flat or even more boring is the Sliverstone Half run by FLM around the F1 Grand Prix circuit.
Hopefully mum and dad will let me stay over with them!

I know the organisers and will pass on the above comments about communication or lack of it through the website and e-mail.
I posted a thread about this event today (not knowing about this thread) and subsequently got scolded by a forumite cos this one was here first. I don't have a handbag so will leave it at that.
This is one of the top half marathons laid on by a small club and has been very successful for many years. This is my opinion, no one else's.
I know its really frustrating when I can't get info about an event myself. So again, I'll pass on your comments.
Hope to see you in Jan 07, good running until then.
Anyhoo, just filling in my form, then find cheque-book, then walk to post-box...
I've just clicked send and told my mate that people aren't getting responses to e-mails and now it appears that he probably did loads last night, oops!
aah well, they say they want feedback, ha ha.
walk to post box... in this rain..
