Heart Rate Monitor

I've just started using my heart rate monitor while training but I'm not sure how to use it for a race. If my long run pace is 152, tempo pace 164 and speed 172, what should it be at for doing a half marathon race. Many thanks

    Personally I don't wear mine for racing. Race day is completely different to training especially if there is a largish number of people, and the adrenaline etc I would expect to make comparisons with training rather circumspect to say the least. While it'd be good to know you haven't gone off too fast, it wouldn't be great to have ended up holding yourself back to stay within the specified range when you could have run harder - in a race you can always run harder and for longer than in training. But that's just me! Jez
