These are great events and the range of runners who attempt them is very inspirational. However, do not underestimate them as they are very hilly and sandy, so this makes for a great challenge. Each month the course varies slightly around the core of St Martha's Hill. Add 15mins or so to yout 10k time and you will get an idea of how hard the terrain is. They have been going for two years and I have run all but one. Every time, I finish with a huge smile despite the pain!!!
Hi Hoggy - you found it then, no I have not done it before, but want to hence why I have entered the series - I have a madness for off road stuff.......
Hi MoaT - what are you doing here?
Team Hurtmore - I used to live in Aldershot so know about the terrain around that area...
ladies and gentlemen. We have now designed the courses and maps can now be downloaded off the site.
it'll be another great year of G3 running.
Great value too compared with other races. [£25 for Nut craker or £22 for Grim!] We spend time publishing maps, paying 3 land owners to use the land, publishing results on the web, toilets, key drop [in my car], and now a vets category.
Double up SAS stlye (Sat and Sun)..... im half way through that this weekend, race today and another tomorrow and gets even better on the first G3, as have that in the morning then the Hant XC chapms in the afternoon...........
Be warned..I was running a race over much of this ground yesterday and it is very muddy and slippery around Newlands Corners. Take X-C shoes or be prepared to slide!!!
If this rain keeps up, doubt you'll be able to read the numbers anyway. Some parts of the course were like ice skating on a sideways slope. In mud, of course.
I'll second that for the marshalls - great job, as Toby etc did with the organising. What a great run, but boy, was it hard - just a good job it wasn't muddy (oh, it was!). Roll on February.
Cracked ankle on the downhill "stairs" after Marthas first descent. By 3pm, couldn't wear me shoe and gave in to the nuclear powered prescribed back anti inflammatories.

Take care
My uberfit footballing, cricketing, skiing work colleague was swearing at me non stop after 5 miles the first time he tried the course.
He tried to break me six months later and died at nine miles as we got half way round the course for the second time, backwards.
Go on, you know you want to.
My best time was 1 hour 16 when I was doing a 10K in 50 mins.
It will sell out quickly.

Look forward to saying hello again Toby.
Can you please ask the owners to at least swab the loos out and make them as functional as possible for 400 assaults.
Not long now.
Can you buy a t shirt on the day?
This is a great race folks.
See you there.
I will be leaving the bike at home, the course kills my back, I can't manhandle a quarter of a ton of Honda as well on the same day at my age.
If you need somewhere to store a few bits and you are struggling, email me for contact details and you can use a bit of me boot.
Course is boggy BTW, off road shoes were struggling in places yesterday. Forgotten just how blooming hard it is.
I'm not jealous!!!!!!
Im preuming that we are collecting numbers on the day, as have not received anything yet.
(Toby - have emailed you on this)
Regards and see you all on Sat
My first time on this one - sounds as if it could be, er, fun ....
can I ask you all to please read the race brief document before race day? downloadable from www.allabouttriathlons.co.uk
it specifies everything you need to know including the fact that race numbers are issued on the day.
Car parking is going to be tight so please share a lift where ever possible.
look forward to seeing you all.
race starts 8:45 sharp
