Zill, congrats to u and spans, I only took up IM after the 3rd sprog arrived. Believe me when they pop out, you need to get out of the house and get some training done.
So I recommend some serious time with Mr and Mrs zilla, a bit of sprogging then pick up the IM training again. Just do what you feel like for now, sure Spans wont let you become a big slobber anyway!
Kanga - thanks for the reminder (no. 3 due v. soon)
Zilla - Orienteering (improve your map work) and then onto the Welsh 3000's (only 15 of them), The Irish 3000's (about 9 of them I think), The English 3000's (8 of them), The Scottish 3000's (100+ of these).
Swim the channel. Swim Loch Ness. Row the Atlantic. Walk across / through the Grand Canyon. Complete L'Etape. Do a Quadrathon. Learn ballroom dancing. Learn to play the guitar. Do a free fall parachute jump. Do a Bungee jump. Do a base jump from somewhere outrageous. Learn to windsurf. Learn to Sail then Sail around the UK. Learn to fly. Climb Everest. Choose Life.
Hey Zilla, a bit in the same boat at the minute (apart from the marrying Spans bit) bit annoyed that in 5 IM's I 've improved my best time by all of 15 minutes, also need to crack sub three marathon so I can leave off them- this will be my 5th or 6th London in a row. Just can't decide whether to go all out for ultras and do the triple or spend a year pursuing faster times at Olympic. Like you though I am settled and happy so relentlessly upping the anti in terms of sporting challenges isn't as important as it used to be.
oddly enough i was playing golf today with my old man - birdied the last and shot a 98 which considering its the second time i've played in 2 years not bad.
I think my immediate challenges will be to get used to off-road racing and to get fit enough to race - have cabbage patch/nike 10 and a couple of off road club races to do in the next month
