ok - back in the pool and improving a bit, been swiming about 1500m a session - was doing some abysmal times - I was doing about 8.45 for 400m TT and averaging about 2m20 for 100m normally.
This morning i managed to sort out the flailing left arm a bit and get the time down to 8.27 for 400m - in total i got my 1500m time from 36.50 to sub 33.30 in 3 sessions.
Still a long way off where i have been in the past - will aim for following in nex few months;
sub 7.30 400TT (pb 7.37) Sub 20min 1k TT (pb 20.17) Sub 30min 1500TT (pb 31.01) 3k T60 (pb 2.8km) Sub 80 3.8k (pb 82.44) Sub 1h45 5k swimathon (pb 1h49.50)
going to aim for the 400m time first then use the speed to expand on the rest - currently only doing sets of 1500 will expand up to 2.2km when feeling fitter/stronger.
Better did a stronger set 400TT in 8.12 a 1m54 ton and 2K overall in 44.33 which is an improvement. Rough throat today so cried off but horror of horrors I may join my gym in the new year.

it took ages and my lungs came out of my throat, but at least my knee started hurting again. Oh joy grrrrrr

sharp pain when twisting and gets better when warned up - tender afterwards and stiff and sore the next day!
If your knee hurts when you twist it - don't! And plenty of pies will help too.
