Play a bit - one thing I would love to do is play hte guitar - I suppose I could learn - never thought Id give up smoking and run a 10k but I did ......
Only had a skim read but just wanted to say I get what you mean about not wanting to hop into established threads but please feel free to hop onto any of mine that appeal...
Extrodinarily large belly follows me in my weight loss battle - I've lost and maintained for a year odd now three stone.. was three and a half but the bloody half stone keeps re-appearing!!
It also follows me through my first half and upto my second marathon! So be warned this running lark get's you doing things you couldnt comprehend at the start!!!
The three go mad in Yorkshire's fairly new and we just yak training really so hop on!
Good luck with everything and please check out my forums.. we dont bite - honest!!
Hello all - went for my run eventually yesterday - but went on treadmill instead !
This thread is to try to welcome new runners who are reading the threads and dont want to 'intrude' on established threads - introduce yourself on here - you get a fab response and then go join in the others ...
Heah, hope you dont mind me joining your thread, find some of the others also a little established for joining.
I have been running seriously (second time) for around a year and a half after 3 year break, but have been injured since Edinburgh Marathon this year and have now lost all self-belief in running abilities.
Am now down to running once a fortnight, and have every excuse going for not going out. But have been doing exercise classes and pilates.
Just bummed out with running at mo. But am going to go this weekend, must go out!!!
oh ! what a lovely picture to look at e-clair !!! welcome !
it has just started raining again here so prob on the treadmill again tonight - depends how quickly it gets dark - no joke it was dark here by 630 yesterday !!
I totally agree that these forums are addictive - thats why I went for a run so late yesterday
To tell you the truth Hippo am not sure if still injured. Has been so long since i ran (about five weeks now) and think am just a bitty scared now!!!
Started with ITBS which was ok, then pain in hip (twisted pelvis) which physio has just kinda shrugged his shoulders at, now he thinks may need referral to private consultant. Not sure if he is just giving up.
Hello albion, piccie keeps me happy and thought it may motivate me to run (I used to be Elmo) but not working. Just makes me hungry!!!
I am planning on doing a five mins walk, 1 min walk this weekend. Back to basics and all that. Makes me feel a little stooopid though and envious of sleek fast looking runners who do not need to walk.
must find myself a 5 or 10k to run soon as I trained so much better when I had something to aim for !
I must say I had a good run yesterday - I felt a bit down hearted after my last 10k - has anyone else ever felt like that ? I suppose its because I now have nothing to aim for ?
Choccy !! - nothing wrong with back to basics ! better not to get injured again ! I started training too hard when I signed up for my 10k and got shin splints ! done what every one does at some point try to run through it and ended up worse but learnt my lesson ! still get probs with it tho'
