Hi Hipps New years resoloutions and all that state we have actualy got to RUN the races we have the numbers for !!!I have played it safe and in my wisdom have not sent off for any races,Highlander on the other hand has chose the send off for every and any race available and dragged my good name into it to add insult.(B******)
I'll be out on the course somewhere marshalling and cheering you all on. It'll be our first wedding anniversary so don't know how I got away with not doing something really expensive.
Glad the pub question has sparked so much conversation :-)
Would be nice to see you again HTA - didn't really get a chance at rough and tumble.
Don't really know the area, but previously some of us have gone to a pub oposite the park. Think it's called The Gate, although I've probably totally made that up :-)
Will be great to meet up again Caz, I am just hoping there are no hills like the ones at the r n t.
I'll email the race director and ask the question about local boozers. But if there is one just oppostie I would suggest we all hook up there. Will need to check they allow kids and serve food.
Plough & Harrow opposite the park serves good beer. The Shrub just down the road is ok and serves food. If you want a child friendly food pub you're probably best going to Sizzlers also just opposite the start.
I've just thought - I entered this online yesterday but never received a race entry confirmation - should I have had one? I have just got one for another race I entered tonight.
Tigger says do any of the pubs allow dogs, cos he doesn't mind waiting in the car while I race if he gets a jog afterwards, but if he can't come to the pub he'd rather stay at home.
DW - same here, and then when I tried to enter again it said that someone with my name and age had already registered. Not 100% sure though if it's because I was doing it from the same computer rather than it somehow miraculously knowing that I'm on the race entry list. Never am sure exactly what technology can do these days ;-)
Juicer - yeah, mentioned that one earlier. I think it's called The Gate but have no idea why I think that!?!?
We'll have to make a decision so we all go to the same place.
HTA - dont worry, nothing like R&T although there are a couple of tough bits. Which pub do you think?

Dave / Caz - Here are details for online entry problems. Just email them at events@runnersworld.co.uk or phone 020 7339 4400 during office hours.
The Gate it is then .... if it's called that :-)
