I'm tempted to do this one to get the new year off to a good start. Anyone else interested, or have experience of this race in the past?
There's no previous year ratings here and its been going since 1984, so someone must know more about it. Male course record is 30:31 so its pretty quick (and thus not too hilly!).

The chap who set the course record is the father of one of Muttley Jnr's mates. He's a professional triathlete. Nuff said. It's a tough course.
The last hill looks bad but it isnt as bad as it seems. Just hang on to that thought.
They're not hills, they're just speed bumps :-)

I am also terrified at the thought and will be doing probably 7.30 KMs and walking up the hills. I am just returning from injury, so have to go slowly anyway. Although looking at the website the slowest finisher was once 2 hours, so thats something for us to beat LoL
I have done 10K before, but did a 7.5K run last night and that was the longest for a long time because of injury. Do you have a number, I shall look out for you.
All together
AAARRRGGGHHHHHHHH
I am *very* chuffed today as I did my longest ever run (7.55kms in 56:34, so about 7:30 per km). I know it's probably not ideal so close to a race but I did it to feel better and more able to do the race. I also know I am very slow but we all start somewhere.
I am now strangely almost looking forward to Sunday as I am starting to think I can do it
Mrs F (aaarrrggghhhh!!)
So I may be slower than ever!!!

I will be there supporting of course.
See you there Mrs F Hope the cold goes soon
[you'll recognise my pink hair if it's not hidden under a hat ) ]
Have a great run everyone

I didn't "race" as such, as my back is still a bit stiff, so took it easy and came in over 2 mins faster than I did last year. I'm a very happy bunny )
Well done and thank you to the organisers and marshalls, who were all very supportive.
I will probably do it next year though, if only to compare it to this. I reckon after a course like this, lots of other 10k's will seem like the proverbial walk in the park!
Mrs F
Well done Mrs F you were about 4 minutes infront of me!
