  • Hi all,

Looking forward to this. Forecast for Sunday is Cold (5 degrees) and dry so hopefully won't need the wellies!

Minimal training since Xmas due to non running injury, but just about upto speed now. I've never run a 10 mile race before so have no aspirations regarding time hopefully somwhere between 80 and 85 minutes

Could I be so bold as to start the List!

    Hess #259 80-85 mins
    Mitten #767

    See you all on Sunday

  • mitten - it's good to know I'm not the only one who exceeds 'normal' HR limits during racing!! :)

Clair-noE - it definitely sounds like a faulty HR monitor reading...mine is the same if the contacts come away from my skin - I have been known to repeatedly 'die' while running lol...also my HR sometime sticks at say 135bpm for about 5 minutes even when I know there is no way it could be that low considering the effort I'm putting in!

    Ahh lists...gotta love em ;-)

    Ohh, list looks great!!!

Did anyone mention somewhere to meet? Brooks, you've done this before - any suggestions?

btw Brooks - Dr told me my shaking was not drink related as it was too fast :-) Poured half a bottle of red wine down the sink last night. Drank last week cause of Barcelona, but back on wagon now.

possunt quia posse videntur - we can because we know we can
  • Can't remember my number either. Looking around 80 minutes. Indeed would be great to dip under again like last year.

Hopefully this wind will die down. It is supposed to get colder but that is not so much of a problem so long as the wind goes away.

Mitten - Richard W is saying 85 minutes so you can't be more :0-)
  • Cant remember my number (might be 491?)

  • The often unreliable and BBC forecest has improved for Sunday; sunny and cool with a lighter wind.
  • Hello ICRAM! Shall look out for you.
  • Yes Sunnry and 7C (well it will be cooler than that at 9:30 but still ideal).
  • Right, had my back crunched back into line at the chiropractic this morn, realy looking forward to sun now.

Is anyone planning on meeting others there, or just run and report back on here after?
  • I would arrange a meeting place but as they start has moved I am not sure where is best. I will look out for the people I know so you might see some of the numbers in a group.
  • Good luck everyone, especially those of us braving the train service!

Let's hope the weather stays dry and sunny and that's there not too much wind.

2 days to go, PB here I come - hopefully!

Maps to get there printed, kit sorted - all ready to go really :-)

Did 13 hilly off-road miles yesterday so should find this a breeze. Hah, wishful thinking!!!!
  • hope to start and finish on the same day!

  • Ha! Nice one mitten - I haven't run since Tuesday so a wee bit worried about tomorrow - I've been out every night since and can't do hungover running lol

Got my lift there sorted now, luckily one of our club runners lives round the corner to me and has offered a lift - just as well as it's so far out!

See you all there tomorrow, us Serpies won't be hard to spot as it's one of our club champ races so there'll be tonnes of us there - hoping I'm not the last one to finish!

Good luck everyone, PBs all round! :)
  • Charging the garmin, getting kit ready, putting post code in gps, cross fingers that this damn wind drops!

Have a good one all ;o)
