You should be happy, Bootoo. Is it getting any easier for you? Incidentally Allen Carr died of lung cancer a couple of weeks ago. Let's hope we all avoid that fate.
Brilliant, Bootoo. Hell fortnight over and major triggers overcome. Reckon you're well on the way.
I've just come back from having two new front tyres fitted. The guys were puffing away, and it's a situation where I would have smoke while waiting. I was almost tempted to ask them for a fag. I didn't, though, thank G*d.
A massive achievement under the circumstances, Huge, well done. Still plodding along here, and learning lots along the way, such as the fact that it would seem that it was not so much a physical addiction as a psychological one for me.
Excellent, thanks SOG, although Mrs Huge is knackered, would prefer not to give up on the sleep, it's all a bit bizarre really. Don't see a prob with the booze and fags though, did the rugby clubs test, bliddy hard work but passed.
Y'know, everyone looks at newborns and thinks of them as delicate little creatures. B*ll*cks! The survival of the baby is not in doubt. It's the parents who need the TLC. Well done on the test!
Hi Bootoo! Excellent news. Any New Year quitters at work? Still clean here. Was very relaxed until now -- about to get weekly phone call from boss, who is the original inspiration for Preparation H.
I have two friends who have also given up, partly because of new year and partly because I did (they must of felt a bit guilty - nothing to do with me!)
I am now confident i will never take up smoking again (very happy to say that!)
Hoose, that's exactly where I was at before I quit. Now I can sit through meetings without wanting to duck out for a fag. I can enjoy full length films at the cinema. I can comfortably endure long distance flights. It's a whole new world not being chained to a fag packet.

Is that true about Allen Carr??!
Tis sadly true about Mr Carr...

It's even more of an incentive to give up!!
Anyone fancy a brew?
IWDI, hang in there. You are doing great. Two weeks plus is massive. Oh, and don't worry about the cuppa. 'Spect it's gone cold now.
just a steady 5 miles to run today!!
I don't use 'giving up', though I've not read Carr. It just seems to me that I'm gaining rather than losing something.

I hit the 100 day/£400 mark yesterday. Woohoo!
Hurrar to all...
Huge, you're a glutton for punishment, giving up smoking, drinking and sleeping all at the same time.
How are Mrs. Huge and Huge Minor, by the way?
Just go tback to work today so that's why I haven't been around for a while.
I am still smoke free and feeling very smug about it too!
How is everyone else doing? Did you all have a relaxing and restful xmas and new year??!
