Bad news for me I'm afraid. Peacewoman has a really horrible cold and is going nowhere this weekend. As I don't drive, that's my lift gone. So I'll do a long training run instead.
Have a great run everyone and down a pint in the Lord Burleigh for me!
Well it's just approaching 6.30 a.m.,I've just stepped out into the garden to see what sort of day it is, and I can report that it's not bad for February.
It's a bit damp but it's not too cold and there's not a chance of snow.
The 30k is really, absolutely, definitely, undeniably, without a shadow of a doubt...ON
Grab your kit and head for Stamford. See you all there and have a great day. May you all have wings on your heels.
I wont be running, fell off my bike a couple of times yesterday and one fall resulted in me picking up a slight twinge below my left knee so not going to risk a 30k with the potential consequences of making it worse.
Ran up to 19k with 10 minute/mile pacer from RW, then got a cramp in my calf, so I had to run/walk the rest. Finished in 3:27:43 by my watch. A well organised race with friendly marshalls.
Phew, that was tough. Managed 2 hours 30 mins. 36 sec's. This was 10 mins. too fast for me and I certainly paid the penalty, felt really bad for a couple of hours after but recovered now. Pleased with the time but dissapointed how I felt after. Hope you all managed whatever it was you were after.
O my god I live in lincolnshire its not supposed to be hilly. Cant decide if I had a good day or not. Good was the fact I got under 3 hours by 40 secs and was my longest run ever. bad news is that it hurt so i think my dream of a 4.00 hour marathan has gone.
Thanks for a great day to all the people involed today the music from the cars was a big help!!1
Tough course. At least tougher than what I thought it would be. Well organised - really friendly marshalls. Pleased with my own result considering I wasn't sure I wasn't even going to run it at the beginning of the week due to niggling injury.
Nice training session for the MdS - carried full pack of around 9Kg and bimbled round in 3:15:03. Don't feel too bad this morning and am pleased with having put in 36 miles all told this weekend!
Many thanks to the organisers and marshalls - terrific event!
Great race, thanks to the club. First time I've seen a car do a 3 point turn in the middle of 700 people! Any idea when the results will be on? Once again, thanks for a top day..
Sorrry not to get the results up sooner - still a couple of things to sort out which have delayed getting them finalised. Will get them up ASAP - watch this space.
We hope to have the team and pairs prizes up ASAP. Apologies for the delay but there were a few glitches to sort out which held up getting the main results finished. Thanks for everyone's patience.
Echoing the thanks to Stamford Striders and other helpers. Faultlessly-run as ever. I had a shocker, and died about half-way for some reason. Hideous slog back after that. :-(
Hi Swerve - the results were there about 10 mins ago. What time did you do in the end? I struggled at the end of this too but this was because I did the first 3 miles too fast.
A bit outside 2:46 in the end, Hilly, what with walking up all of the significant climbs on the way back. Was on pace for what should have been a mildly challenging long training run in 2:35 or so, so I'm not sure where it went wrong. Hills, I suppose! :-(
I definitely can't find the results, and it's not a cache thing. What's the URL of the results page (assuming they are still there)?
I set off with the 10/mile pacer but he went off too fast so I let him go after about 5km - I could prob have kept up but my HR was higher than I wanted it to be for a training run. I went through 15km behind the pacer (not sure how far) in 1.33 and completed the race in 3.07. the pacer slowed down in the second half from what I can gather and finished in 3.06.
as a fledgling fell runner I anticipated my return to road running with no small degree of desperation ! I also scoffed at the hills, having done many races involving over 3000feet of climbs.
as you are probably guessing it kicked my butt ! this is all in the spirit of completing the FLM ( club place ) and boy did it teach me what I had left to do - lots ! ( finished 2: 06 )
fabulous organisation and course though a few more tarns / gulleys / rock faces would have helped : )

Finished in 2.00.14 i think and was first V50 so I'm told.
So if it's right...its a good days work from me. And good night from him!
Lovely scenic course and well organised (up until the prize `ceremony')
Did 1:55.09 - pleased with this given the course (which I reiterate was undulating not hilly:-)))
Finished 4th lady in 2:08.53.
Many thanks to the organisers and marshalls - terrific event!
P.
Thanks to everyone for your positive feed-back .
CH - the 3 point turn was terrific, wasn't it? Straight out of the highway code - textbook.
Can't seem to see who won the team prizes and Valentine's couple prize. Are they anywhere?

Try that Swerve.
It appears on www.stamfordstriders.co.uk but not on www.striders.co.uk, which I was looking at.
Bizarre!
