I do a few 20 milers (between 4-6 in total). Getting used to being on your feet is important and I run (or will do at least once) for nearly 3 hours (distance unimportant) just to get used to this (I hope to finish in around 3:15). I also concentrate on running shorter than 20 miles at race pace, the idea being to become economical at that pace without 'burning out'. Don't foget to include some speedwork.
5 runs over 18miles. Max 22 miles. Not running for more than 3h. I try to have two weeks between each long run. I would have done one slow 26mile run in a fortnight but am going ski-ing instead. Aiming for sub 3.30h
