think I will struggle enough in shorts and t-shirt so no fancy dress for me! No you don't have to run through them - they are placed to the side. At least they were in the GNR - I imagine this will be the same.
no nuns outfit for me for this 1 , will keep that for the gnr again ! just a addidas running top with sweetie (dont ask ! ) embazened across the front .
No you dont have to run through the showers and there is a sign saying when they are coming up. Just make your way over to the side of the track when you see the sign. They have been on the left in previous years.
I am very relieved not to be running in fancy dress this year now. I was set to run in one of the Mr Men costumes but I got a club place so didnt need to raise the money
Can't even imagine how people run in fancy dress - its scary enough in normal kit (even if red laces are normal). I just hope its not too hot on Sunday and the showers aren't needed...
Yeah see I'm not sure. I only got it on Saturday so didn't get teh chance to test it on a long run. Went out for 4.5 and it was fine but it is pretty close to my armpit and I reckon it will definately chaff. Plus it is 100% polyester and I'm used to wearing proper wicking/breathable stuff. Hmm I might cut the arm pits down a bit if that makes sense. Or I might wear what the top I've done my long runs in , only thing is it is long sleeve, but I normally roll them up anyway. hmmm decisions decisions!
Take the front of your charity vest and stitch (or glue) it to the front of the top you want to wear. That way you will get your charity support without the problems of a vest that might give you problems. Have done it in the past successfully myself.
I will be wearing my club vest this year as been lucky enough not to need a charity place this time round
You really wont need long sleeves Laura especially if it is warm. Cut them off.
RE CHARITY VESTS.. mine too is 100% polyester and felt horrible to run in...Rio Fair's idea cutting it out and sticking it onto an exisiting shirt is a good idea...OR you could try what I did..i took an oldish top I knew I had run in a lot before and was very comfortable in, printed from my PC out my charity logo (from web) and name on t-shirt transfer paper and then ironed it on! Looks great and I know its comfortable as I've worn it loads before. Hey presto! I'm off to the Expo 2morrow so will be full of it on Thursday!
That is a good idea Gossy, not sure where do you get transfer paper from? And you iron that on the same as your letters? I have decided I am going to wear the t-shirt I have been running in for all my long runs, it is trusty adn doesn't rub and proper wicking material. Only tthing is its long sleeve but think will do what Rio suggested and chop the sleeves down
hey Laura should be able to get the paper from any good stationers/craft shop etc. Its basicially special paper that you can print images on fro the PC and then iron onto T-shirts - its FAB (which is why I went a bit crazy with ine....)
Thanks Nykie. I think I may pop to PC world later as have sorted the logos out on powerpoint. Just not sure I can mirror image print from my work computer which is annoying, will see if our printing department can do it for me.
paste the image into word, flip it, copy it and paste it back into paint or whatever it is you use then save it. umm might do the same now everyone else it. ghh swollen glands thing I'm getting ill...noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
just a word to the wise guys , just checked out the bbc weather web-site and its down to be a sunny 19 degrees . dont forget to pack the sun tan lotion !

As for showers and wet t-shirts I can see this getting messy!!
