Hi, I'm fairly new to this racing business, been running on my ownsome for years tho, any idea of what the winning time was last year? ahem, and what was the time of the last person across the line? it's my eternal nightmare to be that person, gulp..
Hi JW, yes no problem as long as they are not too bulky. I have to work out how I am getting everything to Mudchute as it is. We are staying in a hotel on Saturday night and I am pretty sure that we will be going by train.
What have you got?
Ruth, I'll be at least 10 minutes and probably quite a bit more behind you. If you haven't raced much before you may be surprised how much faster you go with the adrenaline too!
It all depends on my shoes, just bought a pair of Asics 2120 but they're just a bit too big, which means watch out for randomly flying shoes tootling through the air in all directions (I can take no responsibility for any injuries/decapitations that result from my unruly shoes) ; )
emphasis on possibly at the moment - trains from Bristol don't look great and i'm still not feeling great. may well have to take monday as an extra rest day!
good luck all of you, oh and I do hear rumour (only rumour mind!), that they might have 'nice' cakes on sale as well as the usual fare! keep it under you're hat mind, I didn't tell you!
Moe, I am coming from the Bristol area, but I will have a car full of family with me (for a change).
That is if I can shake off the lurgy that's trying to take hold. Gar! It all feels in the head at the moment, sore throat and blocked nose. I am not looking at a good time here, but still planning on taking part.
Trains are a secondary consideration (but thanks for trying on my behalf, Moe) - I've had to rest up for 5 days with a bad cold and really need to look after myself for FLM. Tomorrow is a very careful long-ish run and doing another 'hard' session (i.e. race) the day after is now asking for trouble.
Hi DB9, fabbo new pb there - excellent news. That's a huge chunk off a 10k time that fast!
That's great news for your daughter Mak's Friend - brilliant time for a debut 10k.
What a lovely race, brilliantly organised and great goodies. I really appreciated the weather too - but my supporters did not. At least there was somewhere warm and inviting for them to wait.
JW - I am so sorry I was halfway back to Bristol before I remembered the jelly beans - my brain must be made of a similar jelly stuff. Do you work in town? Maybe I could pick them up sometime. Otherwise you will have to drop them at the RW stand at the Expo.
<<shameless copy of DB9's understated style>> (ahem)...55.28 (unofficial), 55.40(probably official - always takes me 10-12 secs to cross the start), new pb and v chuffed too.

New pb in the offing?

...And if there are cakes...
Hope you all have good races!
Anyone know how long it would take to drive from Cardiff?
Cakes sound nice, except I can't eat them! I'll just have to eat even more (gluten free) stuff like chocolate!
See you there RD etc.
Daughter did the Poole ladies 5k last Tuesday and clocked a time of 30:07, so we are hoping for about 70 minutes.
See you tomorrow,
MF
(ahem)....38.55, new pb and v chuffed!!
Daughter (in her debut 10k) and I ran togther. She had set a target of 80:00 and was really pleased to do 66:54.
Excellent bundle of goodies at the finish, easter egg and T-shirt
