OK, seeing as the search is down the pan and google is giving me more spam than this site - I thought that i'd give it a go.
I'm looking to get 2 functional t-shirts printed for a race coming up. All of the sites that i've asked for a quote need a minimum order of 20 or the order to be higher value than £150.
Does anyone have a recommendations for online stores that they've used (or a specific shop?). I'm not keen on using the iron on method (i've tried that with other shirts and it didnt turn out too pretty...) and using a black marker turned my skin black during the race.
The design is simple - just a name on the front. I'd like a tank top style shirt (no real colour preference).
Does anyone have any ideas?

I know these guy do one offs and limited runs, but usually only in laser printing:

Great - thanks Curly - i've just sent them an email.
A haberdashery store (or similar) will sell special fabric pens for t-shirt writing.
I've used this on three technical tees in the past using a printed stencil. No transfer in sweat or water, only slightly from washing a few times.

Hi BB, That might be worth a look.
The reason that i wanted it done "professionally" (apart from my awful art skills) is that the race will be my Mum's first one (and running with me) so I wanted to give her a little present to wear for it.
I'm sure she'd be touched by my handiwork but after my last attempt I'm tempted to avoid making the same mistake again!
Oh, and if you in the south/near oxford, there is this place

I've not used them before, I have enquired but the lead time was too long (it was around halloween time I think), but I know they do one-offs, but you usually have to call them for quotes/details/availability.

Go on then pwincess xxxxxxxxxxxx
And pervy bob invited me to Hampstead Heath but when we got there we realised you'd nabbed the best spot AND nicked the lube so went home.
On the upside - I got hit on by Elvis at the pool on Sunday - true story. I'll be blogging about it later and send you the story.
You can try http://thetshirtman.co.uk one of my favorite t shirt printing company
I think Decathlon print names on front of shirts and they sell tanks.
Hi.
OK... this was dead easy i went into Tesco's spent £3.50 on 7 sheets of transfer paper, got a white technical top, printed what i wanted on an inkjet printer and ironed it on. It's great it won't last for years but it's pefectly good for my marathon and i'll maybe retire the top as a memento. If you look at my just giving site it has pictures of the t-shirt on it.

No,, i'm not trying to prod you to look at my site to donate, it's just the easiest way to view the t-shirt
Did the top last through being washed? I did this years ago and the ink didn't survive the washing machine which is a pity.
I do like making my own clothes but sometimes you do want the 'professional' look. Wish I was still screen printing - I really should get back into that although the studio I used wasn't really set up to print onto clothing you could get reasonable results.

Anyway if there is someone keen on crafting and in need of printing on their clothes, it would be useful for you.
