For the past week or so I've been getting this odd, and annoying, pulsating noise in my left ear. It feels almost like a heartbeat, but it isn't actually in time to my heartbeat! It'll pulsate several times in quick succession, then stop, then do it again. Sometimes there's a gap of several hours, other times only minutes. It's driving me mad!
Has anyone ever had something similar?

Yes, I've had that pulsating ear thingy ... think it was when I first started running. Seemed to go of its own accord.
ha, i thought it was only me. I put it down to some sort of palpitation, or a twitchy nerve or something. doesn't cause pain and i'm not concerned. if you're worried, go to your GP for reassurance.
One of these?

I had that a few years ago after exposure to some very loud noise, it was caused by dried ear wax being compacted and forced further in, GP order an ear syringing and it went away.
