There are a few clubs & groups that would be good to start with depending on what you want.
In Aberdeen, there is Metro Aberdeen who train Tuesday and Thursday, Cosmic Hillbashers, Aberdeen Athletics Club, and there are also various Jog Scotland groups in and around the city which cater for beginners up and are very sociable.
There's also a 5k Parkrun every Saturday at the beach (starts just opposite the Beach Leisure Centre) at 9.30 am. Coffee afterwards at Satrosphere, so both a good social event and lots of scope to meet other runners.
