Yes, I am peed off. I forgot it was German time and logged on at 12.02 our time by, then all the cheap places had gone and I had to pay the top whack! But on the upside at least I'm in.
Registered on €110!! Didn't think would go so quick! Plus thought meant 12pm UK time. Surely they can't release the cheaper ones at the same lower price if people don't pay up? Probably won't get too many signing up at that price now. I did it this year and was amazing. I'm sure I paid €60 a week after the registration opened up! Big difference to the numbers when you don't need to pay upfront! It is an awesome marathon though
As the entry fees are for the first 10,000 entrants (not registrations) I suspect it might change.
The email says you will be notified after 05/11 of when to pay, In my view the 60Euro ones will have X days to enter, those that dont enter will lose place and those slots will then be reallocated to the corresponding number of entries from the 90Euro slots (if 500 dont enter then the entries 10,001 to 10,500 will benefit) who will then have to enter by Y date and then it will move onto the 110 Euro entrants.
Wow! It says that last year took 6 weeks to fill up, so 3 hours is ridiculously quick. Am glad I was on there at 12:01 - first ever marathon now signed up for...
Wow. I competely misjudged the Berlin Marathon registration. I am in the states and tried to sign up first thing in the AM, Chicago Time. Already gone. Bummed out, big time. From 6 weeks in 2012 to 3hours for 2013? That's unbelievable.
Hi davisb, keep watching the website, there looks like further opportunities after first week of November, when registrants who fail to pay up will have their places invalidated!
Hi DLR....thinking about Lufthansa via manchester, only £80 but very early start both ways! My other half has a flying phobia, and is actually coming up with a route by rail - too long for me pre-run! Also more expensive!
Funnily enough sticky I've just booked that at £79.10 return including hold luggage. I booked Friday to Tuesday as I couldn't face a 7am flight the day after a marathon!
I manged to get in at bang on 11am UK time, 60??? I reckon it's worth more money to them, if 5,000 don't pay up it will reopen and they will all pay 110??? so those who register at 60-90??? and decide against it, they win win win!
This will be my first time in Berlin, so apart from what's been mentioned, are there any good recommendations for hotels, what's the best area, and the best places to make a booking?
Budget is tight-ish but I'd be looking for a hotel, not something like an apartment or hostel.
If you do book those days I'm likely to drive and leave the car in Manchester if you want a lift!
DLR, I've just booked the same flight, out friday, back Tues. may take your offer up if you've got 3 spare seats as I've got my supporting team with me

I'll be travelling Billy No Mates so I wouldn't rule it out...though luggage space could be at a premium! Orbutt is on the same flight out.
Been looking at staying over near the airport the night before. Not sure I fancy getting up at 3am to drive to Manchester 2 days before a marathon!

Looks like they will hit the 40,000 today as the 110 Euro banding has kicked in so thats 25,000 already ......
I'm in, managed to get in while it was still on 90 euros.
Oh yes, I'm in at the lower tier pricing, fantastic. Emmy_H dont forget to bring those chocolates along

I am in the second tier, the figures may change when people dont actually part with their cash in November!

Makes sense JPenno. Well, I am in again and that's what counts I guess. Thanks.
Third tier all ready!!! EEEkkkkk
Just saw this thread, opened the Berlin 2103 website and pre-registration now closed - within 3 hours!!

Wow! 2 years ago, it closed in Febuary!!! Last year, 6 weeks!!! Crazy!!!
It took 3 hours and 30 mins but it's going, going, gone! Absolutely amazing!

Are there other ways to potentially get in?

Hi Davis...what Sticky said.
Sticky - flights from Leeds don't look too great.
Thanks. Flights from Chicago probably aren't going to be so great either.
I'll keep an eye out.

Well done DLR, looked at the exact same flight same day too! Have you sorted your accommodation?
No, I haven't looked at that but there's rumblings that some of the Paris lot might look at sharing appartment(s) to keep the cost down.
If you do book those days I'm likely to drive and leave the car in Manchester if you want a lift!
Delighted to see Berlin 2013 forum in action and also a few familar Paris names/faces ... Astounded by the speed of the registration filling up

Thinking about it, it'd be up at 5am but the principle holds true!
DLR, Leeds-Manchester Airport return train £16, leave 4:50, arrive airport 6:24. Food for thought, but can't book yet until 3 months before.
Accomodation all sorted! Just need to pay the Berlin registration fee.
Can't do Paris next year as have an obligatory 65th birthday week celebration away!
