This is without doubt the best possible way to start the year, and the lovely warm glow you get from running up foolishly steep hills in the freezing cold with a bunch of like minded nut jobs in various forms of fancy dress is MASSIVE....
I had better get training and make sure the ship can navigate around the course in one piece and round up my hearty, sea faring fellows to join me on the trip up and down the Mole Valley.
Really interested in doing this - looks a bit nuts though - I'm not afraid of a good hill, but 4 times up Box Hill in one run?!! Is it as good as the reviews are saying?
I'm a returner, almost a beginner again. I do hill repeats as part of my training, can run a flat 10k in 60 mins and am familiar with box hill, though I've never run up it - am I mad to consider this one? Also, where can I find the slowest time last year (to give me an dea of whether I'll come last!)
Holey Moley - go for it. I'm in a similar situation as you doing 10k races in 60 mins. I did the Knacker Cracker (12k) last year in quite a bit longer, but the race itself is exceptional in terms of the atmoshphere. Last year's results are at http://www.trionium.com/knackercracker/, but remember it was 12k last year.
Your time doesn't really matter holeymoley. Try 1.30? And Dr Robs distances are approximate. None the less this is one of the best events in the race calendar. You'll love every second of it.
Getting confused and dazed already with all of this time and distance talk. I just hope that the mast and rigging manages to avoid any ship wrecking crossing the stepping stones and drifting down the Mole to Leatherhead.
Entered last night - haven't I learned anything at all from doing the half-marathon version of the Greensand last month??? Usually manage 55+ mins for a 10K, so I put down 2 hours for this one, just in case, after having read all your very interesting comments.
The Knacker Cracker 2013 is now completely full - alas there is no waiting list and there are no entries on the day. (It really is full!). Come back next year!

Time to get the cossie planned
I'm in. Now the uncertainty of which fancy dress to wear.
Wow, NDR - I'm impressed! So fast... like in the race...?
Not that I'm needy or anything

I'm in...
OK, I entered this. Thinking a monkey onesie...should keep me warm!
Every year I do this & every year I question whether the marbles have shaken a bit looser when I sign up....
Bugger . Have been lucky enough to have been working the last 3 years. Change of job means no excuse, and the last 500m is fun.......
I was going to go as Jimmy Savile (seriously), but I don't think that's a starter now!
I'm in Now, what to wear....?
We're coming back for more, won some jaffa cakes last year for our fancy dress outfits. Best prize EVER!!
Dr Rob,
I'm not sure if I'm in for 2013 - I normally enter really early but I'm now worried I forgot -please could you check for me?
Thanks!

My 10k time is about 1.10 at the moment but I can plod round 'comfortably' . Normally at the back...
Okay, call me mad, but I'm going for it! I'll sign up before I have time to change my mind. Now I just need to find some hills to practise on...
Is it 10k or 12k this time? And what time do you think I should be thinking of, given my flat 10k time of 60 mins?
Insanity is a prerequisite for entry to this one. Especially if you've done it before and know what's coming.....

Hoping to be back before the soup runs out.

My only goal is to get back before the soup runs out.
It's going to be alright!!!!
