Problem is once you put it on once thats it, your effectively softend up then for the rest of winter. parents put it on yesterday. So thats probably it now. Not sure if its a good thing or not really.
Ours has been on since I came up to uni at the end of September (at least when Crazy Housemate has been in). Not looking forward to the gas bill at the end of the year, because Crazy Housemate thinks it's energy efficient to crank it up to 30 degrees then turn it completely off as soon as the house warms up, so we alternate between boiling and freezing. Winds me up because I'm sure she'd feel warmer if she'd do some exercise and dare to brave a vitamin or two!
Oops, I'm ranting... sorry! I'd better go and cool off XD
Mine's on, has been for a while really, about 6 weeks! But my house is really small so I can put it on for a couple of hours & then the house is boiling, so not os bad. I'm always cold (apart from when I'm out power-walking!) so it's slippers, fleecy socks and plenty of layers for me, heating or no heating!
We have a wood burning stove with a glass front in addition to the central heating, we've had a fire every night for a couple of weeks now, it warms the entire house and looks lovely too, even just watching the flames makes me feel cosy. And it cuts down tremendously on the heating bill.
Mine's been on since the end of September but with the thermostat turned low so it only comes on if it gets really cold and it's nice having warm towels off the radiator!
I like to put my undercrackers on the radiators of a morning. Nice and warm when I put them on. One of life's little pleasures - centrally heated gonads.

Heating, woodburner and fire on and off since the first real frost two or thee weeks ago. Thermostat is set at 15 degrees, which does mean that some of the other rooms can be a bit cool.
If the heating worked it would be on. As it is, it's warmer out tha in and I'm wearing thermals and 2 fleeces and 2 pairs of socks. Hot water bottles at dawn.

Haven't got the heating on, and didn't put it on at all last winter, don't plan to this year either. Too expensive.
Yes, it's on. Been on and off for a couple of weeks.
Too right the heating is on! Southern Softie? Me? You betcha!
Lol Slugsta +1 for the Southern Softie here!
Mine is on and has been for a couple of weeks. I keep the house at about 19 degrees ambient temperature.
Yup, we caved about a week ago.
We have it on - the cat was getting cold....
