  • Languages are odd, especially English.

    Patio and ratio could also be paysheeo and rattyo

  • Re Saucony:  If you say sock-a-knee rather than saw-con-y, it is a very American way of pronouncing the 'au' vowel sound which would not sound natural in English.  eg like the difference between 'all', 'call' or 'fall' in American and English. The staff in an English shop would still stare at you!

    I don't know how this thread got resurrected but I've been pronouncing Saucony wrong in my head.

    This quoted post was quite interesting though... because I used to read this brand name as Oasics  - pronouncing it O-ay-sics.
