Actually Jason the start is on the 20 course but not for long before you branch off. I am doing it for the 3rd time too and hoping for dry weather. The visitor centre is open all year now so registration is in the school bit around the back but will be well signed. Lots of Rhayader club members doing it and some trying a 10 for the first time so all abilities.
It has got a few hills but thankfully it is downhill at the start and the end where it matters!
Thought I ran well but was slower than last year - not that I really care! I thought the weather was perfect too and loved it as always. Dont forget the 20m and 5m plus the 3 x 5k in the spring for anyone looking for a shorter distance up here.
The 5m is the same day as the 20 so ideal for people wanting a shorter distance or up to support others. Bus takes them up past the dams and they run back to the same finish in Rhayader town. The 5k series is in may/ June and runs along the dam which is always fab and has great tea and cakes after.
