I have starting running further in preperation for a Marathon next year and over the long distances, mainly above about 9/10 miles i am getting very sore nips especially in the colder weather and unfortunatly most of my running for the next few months will be in close to 0 degress or below as in the north of scotland, so any advice would be very much appreciated.

Stick plasters over them.
🙂
Sticky plasters works for me. If you've hairy nipples, take 'em off in the bath.
Micropore tape - very small patches of.
Zinc oxide tape (get mine from e-bay)
Just peel zinc oxide tape off after bath or shower post run & try to avoid sticking over hairs when applying!
I'd also recommend buying a product like "Bodyglide" or "Brave Soldier Friction Zone" - both have worked fine for me when running distances up to a marathon.
