Yesterday one of my clients told me a story about a plumber who did an insurance based job for her. That's part two, but here's the first.
He said he had to call a barrister. Apparently he was sent a notice which said he was clocked speeding. So in an effort to throw the authorities off the scent he said it wasn't him driving, it was his mate.
So who's your mate? er,. He then made up one, who obviously cannot be found.
By the way, was your mate insured to drive your car? Well of course he was. Duh!
Needless to say he's been called to account hence the barrister.
My client asked why he didn't just admit the offence in the first place. No way.
Part two:
Having fixed a leaky wash basin he billed the client for the best part of £600, justifying the price on 'it being an insurance job'.
Client wants a receipt, he doesn't have his book. Thankfully he doesn't get the money. Unfortunately; for him, my client happened to be a retired police women. Oh dear.
Probably needed the money to pay the barrister.
What's with some people. They get in a hole and just keep digging.
Any examples?

No names,no pack drill.
Mind you 'Client' could be pushing the relationship, I'm only there to cut the grass.

I thought this was going to be about the Nigerian Trader in the news today - how many Billion did he lose ?
There is a gravedigger I know and he is always getting into holes and just keeps digging.....
I heard a similar tale but the driver actually was a police officer. He said his mother was driving. Unfortunately the photo showed definite designer stubble. He lost his appeal and his job.

Colin, what are you going on about?
You assume that the client told me in confidence. Not so, common knowledge to anyone she bumped into.
Identification. Who is she, who is he? As I said no names. This could be hypothetical, I could have made it up.
Where did this happen? Tell me the potential damage my post could have on these people?
Even my Doctor has said to me, "I had a case". No names. Confidentiality assured.
Details yes, but not confidential ones.
