Hi all,
I started running in April, when the weather was nice, but now its cold and I have some issues. I am training for my first half marathon in February. Last week had a cold, because went out for a run on a Sunday afternoon and my throat was really cold, which forced my stop after couple of miles. Run again on Monday and my cold got even worse. Hasn't run till today, planned to do a long run, but after 3 miles, my throat start disturbing me again and was forced to stop. I always breath through my mouth, really struggle if try to breath through the nose.
Could you please give me some advices.
Many thanx in advance.

Thanx, I will try one of them.
Is it possible to hold back on the running until the cold clears completely? Or cross-train on a cycle machine for a day or two in a gym? You wouldn't lose any fitness or stamina doing this.
You don't get colds from running in the cold. You might have had a cold which felt worse by running and inhaling chilled air, but if every time you run you get cold like symptoms then it is not a cold as such In which case do as cougie suggests.
I agree with Cougie. I wear a buff n it works for me. I struggle to breathe through my nose aswell. Wearing a buff keeps the air you breathe warmer n moister n helps stop sore throat.
Absolutely - don't run with a cold, that's just going to make it worse.
How will running make a cold worse?
I just think running always brings my symptoms out much quicker , maybe its your body having to fight cold germs whilst doing intensive exercise. But if I have a potential cold, it will always come out after a run,
If I feel a bit stuffy with a cold going for a run clears it, always feel much better after. Then it comes back the more time you spend in doors.
