i might do this
More of your charm please !
Seems a long long loooong way to go for a 100k!
And it doesnt have to be featureless - last time I did laps I saw unicorns and pink pussy cats and marmalade trees
I think I'd like to do this, the course looks lovely
I might even drive up, 504 miles each way
Thanks for all your varied comments As always, there are many varied challenges out there wating for us whether we are runners cyclists swimmers mountaineers etc and we all pick our own. Happy to see any of you at Perth for the 100k/50k races, where the loop course creates a great atmosphere and which is always a highlight of the scottish and uk ultra calender. Good luck to whatever challenges you find and await you in 2013
I looked at the logistics of flying up and hiring a car and the costs are probably slightly cheaper if I drive. Advantage of being Easter weekend I can drive up leisurely over Friday and Saturday and maybe get a bit of time to sightsee as well.
I used to drive up to do the Two Bridges Road Race
Last day today to sign up for earlybird entries for the Self Transcendence 100k/50k races at beautiful Perth, Easter weekend March 31st http://uk.srichinmoyraces.org/ultras. An extra £5 after today. What's your 100k or 50k time?
Adrian - I don't remember seeing anything in the entry details re early bird discounts, or even how much the entry fees are. But thanks for the reminder and I've just entered the 50km.
Why don't SAL give affiliated entry to UKA runners? UKA and ARC races give affiliated entry to SAL runners.
Shades,- thanks for entering . it will be a great day for everyone involved . and in keeping with its national status we have entries from Cornwall in the far south west ( and now from Devon?) and Shetland in the north, and all points in between..Yes there is a uk wide reciprocal arrangement re members discount.. if you entered your number you will be entitled to it. will check your entry and send you a mail to sort this out for you as necessary soorrry.!.
Adrian - yes, I'm the one from Devon. The discount only applies if you tick the SAL box, I did put my EA licence number in the other box though as requested. I'm not worried about the £2, a cup of coffee at the end of the race will suffice to make amends this time.
I like the entry website though, nice touch showing how many places available for each race etc and to check the entry list to see that I'm on there.
Off to book the Travelodges now.
See you there Shades
100km on road, thats not natural !!!! But good luck to all who give it a go.
Mrs Mac - look forward to seeing you and Mr Mac, have you entered the 50km or 100km?
Well i'm down for the 100km I was supposed to run it two years ago but had a bad chest infection so looking forward to finally making the start line. Fingers crossed
Nice one Catherine
50K Shades, haven't actually done a 50K race on its own before so it'll be a PB
Mrs Mac - I guess you've usually signed up for the longer option. I haven't done many 50km, only 2, so have quite a soft PB that I should be able to improve on. I'm not doing the 100km as I have a 100km race in June, plus I have Conne the week after Easter.
Catherine - hope you are fit and well this year
Where is the entry list? Would be interested to see how many open entries there are for the 100km
hellen - on the on-line entry system, click one of the tabs and it gives you the entry list.
