Garmin are great! but it is easy to become a slave to them. I like running without a watch at all sometimes..no pressure about pace/ distance. just running to enjoy.
resist temptation Sarah...presses look SO good wrapped up!
Sarah - happy birthday for tomorrow. 31 was such a long Tim ago no that I am 43 but age is a relative thing and we are all as young as we feel.
Have being looking at the garmin on the web this morning and think that as I have been relatively good this year that it might not be too late to write to Santa and ask for one.
I guess for me at the moment a good watch is a key part to getting my pacing right so that I can get closer to my target race time. It is all in the preparation and pacing.
Carl, my Garmin has been one of the best things I've ever bought. I have an old 205 but it still does me proud. It's held together with insulating tape after I took it apart so that I could 'fix' the speaker - needless to say it now operates on mute
310xt would be my next one, I'll buy yours off you when you need to upgrade Tenjiso
Can it not be announced sooner since everyone is raring to go...?
Are you this bad with all your christmas presents?!!
The pitches have all gone over to the 'panel', once they have made their decision and the winners are back with me I shall confer with KK and see where we go from there

That's the names in a hat to be drawn down the pub on Christmas Eve.
Good heavens no, I am sure that they will be cogitating and deliberating each and every waking hour before throwing them all up in the air and catching the lucky six

Thanks everyone for your kind wishes. Can remember turning 30 last year and I felt so old, everything seemed to go wrong for about 2 months, thought that was it, but luckily things turned around and i now feel more like 25 again!
So struggling with my presents. My husband is worse than my parents - he won't even let me open one until tomorrow! Luckily a patient gave me one earlier which I opened before coming home...fingers crossed it will keep me going!
Thank you Vanessa....and I thought I was hard done to having a birthday so close to Christmas....it must be even worse for you! How have you found it? I always find that no one can come out for my birthday as they either have no money, their already out for Christmas or they are sick of partying! Do you get the same?
Well I was told not to open my presents until my OH got up....he's still in bed and I've been up 90 mins already.....I just couldn't resist.....now for my birthday run!

Santa is bringing my shiney new Garmin 310xt, as long as I'm tucked up in bed and don't peep. I've been good.
Happy birthday Sarah. 41 sounds young Koala, I'm 10 years older than that

I'm hopeful the forum is going to go one better than asics right from the start by actually having 6.
Looking forward to hearing who gets chosen, its a hard one this year.

Need to check if any of the Asics 5 are close to my target time of 3:45 to compare their training schedule to mine.
Maybe I should wait for Christmas Eve but it is hard ....
Best of luck everybody who pitched and is waiting for the results of the tossing of the pitches !!
There'll be done of that going on in here thank you very much
