Managed a couple of runs the last few days, but had ingrowing toe nail done (sore!), and my missus has turned 40, so busy with that too. Oh, and apparently it's Christmas soon.
Working today and tomorrow and then on Tuesday I think I shall cycle up to see the 'oss and make use of what ever time I have left before the annual indulgence and then back to work again Wednesday ...
Good spot reference the wine rack. It's been empty for a few years. I should have gotten rid of it although I'm banned from doing so as it was a wedding gift which makes it a battle not worth fighting. Of all the things to get sentimental over.
Matschick - The beach is on the Island of Guernsey and can be found along it's northern coastline. More info can be found in this pic here (both pics taken by me). As I mention above, this beach will be used in the Half Distance event I'll be doing in September of next year. More info on that event can be found here.
I'm on the island visiting the folks for Xmas and "enjoyed" a 15 min paddle this morning. Naturally I wore a wet suit and was made to feel quite silly when a pair of 60+ year old ladies got into the water in nothing but an old fasioned all in one bathing suit and matching flowered swim caps.
SD - those restraints are cords for a TRX body weight suspension training system. I swear by it for my core strongth and conditioning work. After the rollers / turbo and the power tap, it's the best bit of kit I've ever had.
By the looks of it, the toughness depends on the weather. The bike and run courses are relatively flat so on a good day without wind I would have thought it offers the potential for a good time.
That said, if the wind is blowing (as it is today - gale force 8), the ride and run along the East coast of the island would be quite miserable.
I'm thinking the name merely stems as a little play on the granite rock that makes up much of the islands geology and was widely exported many many years ago. Of course, the islands other main historical exports were flowers and tomatoes.
Of course, the Tomato / Flower Man doesn't tend to carry the same gravitas or appeal, does it.

Morning SD,
Enjoy the bike ride.
I'm still here. Been swimming, running and turboing this week, but today I'll be making mince pies and staying cosy in front of the fire.
Good luck on the bike SD, the weather here is far too fierce to venture out in.

Hope the toe improves quickly Tim.
Is most of the food on her rather than in her, Holgs?

Just looking back over this years training
I did a CSS Test in January

200 = 3.52
CSS Score 2.01/100m
Repeated a few weeks ago
400 = 6.45
200= 3.15
