Lemmy: thanks for your concern (and also your great company today). Foot is swollen but hoping recovers soon, i.e. by tomorrow as training run planned for LA half marathon in 2 weeks (fingers crossed).
Did a far better time than I expected today despite the conditions. I think this was largely due to being pursued at speed by The Village People! Never run so fast in my life!
Great atmosphere - there's no better way to set the scene for the year ahead. Thanks again to Dr Rob & the fantastic team of Marshalls.
Excellent race. When can I sign up for next year?!!
I live locally and have ridden and run across Box Hill for years and I second what the Ranger said, I've never seen it that muddy and slippery. Wetter maybe, directly after rainfall, but not that slippery.
Views were amazing, costumes and attitude of other racers and marshals were really good too. Very friendly all the way round.
Best way I've seen in the new year in a good few years!!
It was my first ever Knacker Cracker and it really lived up to all my expectations re my last race under Dr. Rob's helm (Leith, or should that be 'Lethal Hill'?!!).Well worth the five (!) hours round trip, just to be with you all, sharing the muddy experience. Absolutely everything was 100%, thanks to such superb team effort. The marshals were, again, so encouraging/motivating, making us believe that we could all get to the finish line 'intact'!!! Would I do it again? YOU BET! Thank you Dr. Rob and your brilliant team of helpers, without whom this and many other events would not be running.
I was really keen to do this but was sat at home with a buggered up leg. Bah humbug! Next year! I'll be there! There, i've said it so now i will have to be

Young Pup: "Wee Willy Winky" will be very upset that you didn't recognise his outfit - he was actually Scrooge
All the runners were amazing - well done all!!!!
Can I try and weasel out of my mistake by pretending I was being in character for my costume, and being as "Mad as a Hatter"?
Weasel - that's it Young Pup - Toad of Toad Hall Group run next year!
At least he wasn't confused for a dalek, hadn't realised the mast had drooped down that much
Nice to talk to you today by the way - hope you enjoy LA
R5K - does that mean you will be toad?
Only if I can drive the car up the zig zags.
As always an awesome race and a great way to start the new year.
So it was Scrooge at the top of the steps. That explains his kind words to those of us who had to walk up the last bit.
The Ghost Pirate Ship was one of my favourites. Scrooge at the top of the steps was John Jelly, chairman of Dorking and Mole Valley AC.
The Ghost Pirate ship was also one of my favourites - though I could be a tad biased there
Hi Lemmy. Started off as a Ghost Pirate Ship, drooped a bit and turned into a dalek by the viewpoint and finished happy but knackered
YoungPup (& everyone else) support & join your local running/athletic club...
Thanks Dr Robert & runners & supporters & Soup Dragon & Roblets... Great day out... Folks asleep in back of car = silence (which is golden)
