Hi,
Planning on doing the surrey cycleway 90mile(ish) this weekend and was wondering if anyone had any good advice on the best place to start off on the cycleway.
i live in london so the plan is to drive out to a starting point - railway station etc, then enjoy a days ride on the cycleway before returning back to the car and returning home.
any advice on the cycleway or starting points would be much appreciated

If it were me I would park on the top of Box Hill in the NT car parks (£3 for the day), then you can go down the zig zag and under the subway and pick the route up going up Westhumble Street.
I was completely unaware that the cycleway was actually a loop, I guess I've ridden large parts over the years, but never as a loop. Now I know exactly what those brown signs are for. There are some cracking climbs on the route.
I didnt know it was a loop either!
Is there a map of the loop online anywhere? Sounds like a decent training route (come the summer!)
Cheers for the advice FerrousFerret. Much appreciated.
That's exactly what I am using it for Gladys M.ince pies . Doing IMUK this year so perfect to hammer out anythung between 50 / 60 miles or do the full loop of 94.
You can apply for a free map of the route on this link .... http://www.surreycc.gov.uk/roads-and-transport/cycling-and-driving/cycling/get-cycling-in-surrey/surrey-cycleway
when i get mine i will put something on here.
I've applied as well! Challenge Henley for me this year.
Pay £3 for parking, Sod that for a game of soldiers.
Carry on down A24 past Burford Bridge. Look out for turning on left after 1/4 mile (not first one which goes to a few houses. Straight into a gravel car park next to Box Hill stepping stones - Free. On the other side is the West Humble turn just before it. You can also park on the West Humble lane on the other side opposite the Stepping Stones pub.
Hope this saves £3.
