I had a kidney transplant in July 2012 and have very recently taken up running. I wondered if there was anyone else out there in a similar position. I'm starting from absolute scratch really, having only done a little exercise and no running in the last few years. Recovery from the surgery (and all the drugs) was hard work so even though I've been much more active in the last couple of months, I'm still at a low level of fitness.

I'm replying to try and bounce this one up and get it a bit more attention! I've heard about a British Transplant Games and I don't know if any of the links on their website (http://www.transplantsport.org.uk/page.asp?section=0001000100090002§ionTitle=Useful+links) are any use or if you might find a team (http://www.transplantsport.org.uk/page.asp?section=000100010028§ionTitle=Team+pages) relevant to your hospital who might be able to put you in touch with local people in a similar situation.
