4 miles around the large and small blocks, happy with progress as very recently returned to running after 15 months. Crispy and cold - need to find my running gloves
7am start, and another 15 minutes' running with my chum as she eases back after injury; I then headed for the prom and logged just short of 5 miles altogether. Bitter east wind heralds snow
frost laden pavements but surprisingly less slippy than anticipated - easy paced run with friend - rounded off with a warming session in the steam room - came back with a glow in my cheeks
Met League cross country at Perivale yesterday. Course was pretty much continuous bog with no opportunity to really get going and no hope of getting any power on the slopes. Course was supposedly 8k but I made it 9.05. Anyway, got round in 45.40 and failed -- again - to make the top 300.
curious sport is running - can't understand how you can go from PB form to a dismal performance in a week!
7.30am start, keeping a sharp eye out for lurking ice patches and frost hidden by the pre-dawn gloom. A tour of Crosby village and Rimrose Valley before passing what's left of the docks at Seaforth and finishing with a mile up the beach & thence to Vic Park & home. Very cold but fresh too. 10.5 miles.
Swittle - bad luck with the injury mate but hey, at least it lead you to running I much prefer running to Rugby, you tire of some 18 stone animal trying to squeeze your nuts out of the shell eventually....
Absolutely beautiful 6m steady in a snowy scene this morning. Cold, crisp and joyous. The snow is falling again now and getting heavy. I love winter for this.
14miles yesterday in 2:21 (just under 10min/mile). which was between 10-20% of target marathon pace, so feeling pretty confident about training at the moment.
felt comfortable throughout, managed to run pretty even splits for a change.
bit late for me. Run ragged at work with these lovely Ofsted chaps :-/
4.6 miles yesterday in fantastic / perfect running conditions. Very cold and sunny. Am jealous of those of you who got out in the snow today. Hopefully I'll squeeze half an hour in tomorrow... see how I go
SB, I heartily agree - and I was never really much good. Just wish I'd found running earlier...
Good to see the Mara training building well ^ Not a single flake of snow on Merseyside so far but a whole skyful of rain early this morning for my 5 miles around Crosby & Blundellsands.
Wow, haven't been on here in ages! Haven't been running too much since Bath Hilly Half at the end of Nov but have been getting going again in January. Last run was on Sunday: the Beat the Bore race, seven miles along the River Severn. Early and cold start - not helped by about two hours sleep at best the night before, thanks to a not very well baby. Good fun though. Went to my new local Park Run at Little Stoke for the first time, the day before. Horrible weather and, after a very lazy December, I wasn't expecting much, but I wasn't too far away from my PB, which surprised me!
9 miles on the treadmill with five at half marathon pace. Running on the treadmill is good practice for doing a jungle marathon - very hot and humid. Unfortuneately my marathon is in London....
Managed to fit in 20 mins on the treadie and 15 mins on the cross-trainer after work. I'm not sure that counts but it was better than a kick up the backside, especially after the s**t day I've had.
Pavements are dry but frost lurked in the tarmac as I ran with circumspection to the Marina & up thro' Seaforth before meeting my run buddy for 20 slow minutes without incident. Shaping up to be even colder tomorrow before dawn! 5.9 miles.

Sat 2.00pm - pilates class followed by 7 steady miles - started with fully stretched (but lactic acid filled) muscles so found it quite tough
good running everyone
Sun 7.00am - 16.3km (79 min)
frost laden pavements but surprisingly less slippy than anticipated - easy paced run with friend - rounded off with a warming session in the steam room - came back with a glow in my cheeks

the terrain makes all the difference, wouldn't judge your form on a race like that
8 miles, begun steady and finished the last two miles half a minute faster than goal hm pace.
10 miles felt great again, absolutely gorgeous out - cold but sunny and crisp! Good stuff!
5 mile recovery run on the treadmill today. Thats 63.46 miles for the week. Week 4 completed.
6 miles at 8am this morning. Gentle pace in the gorgeous winter sunshine
The cold wind made my nose stream lol but all good otherwise!!
Really enjoyed the run and felt strong. Had to slow myself down at times because it was meant to be a LSR.
32k for the week including 1 interval session.

7 miles in the snow.
12 miles yesterday at 7:34 min/m, not far off the 7:38 MP target.
Lovely morning for running.. Unlike today - rest day thank god

Mon midday - 8km woodland trail (bog) with Fudge - mud splattered but content
dig in everyone
Regents Park and Primrose Park in a mix of sleet and rain. 7.5k at 4.55m/km. enjoyed it once I got going!
i have a feeling this week is going to test the resolve of a lot of runners, including myself

4m Steady on a cold and frosty morning. Brrr. Okay run. Much better than in wind and rain.
Gentle 4 miles recovery this morn, ice ice baby.
