snap pingu.just done a couple of hours running.............and still debating how I'm going to tackle the bike this weekend
Well, I'm run injured, so that's off and my mountain bikes knackered, so turbo is only option really. Think the local pool is shut too. Nice snow pictures btw
Broke and Seren, we're going to have to sort some long bike rides out in the spring
Hit and miss on the training between work deadlines and ilness over the last two weeks. Have managed a couple of runs and bike sessions on the turbo.
As from a week Monday though I get to have lots of fun with my training as it looks like I'm going on secondment to our Malvern office and so have the delights of 3 or 4 months, at least away, from home in a hotel.
Rejigged my training schedule to have long bike on Friday, long run on Saturday and a long session at the pool on a Sunday morning. I'm hoping that the hotel will at least have some facilities even if its just a gym with bikes and a treadmill.
With the Kit Fairy's guiding hand, I'm going to do an order so that a nice yellow golf umbrella with a fetching black logo might
a. Keep my supporter(s) dry / happy at Outlaw / Henley / Lanza (delete as appropriate)
b. Make them feel they're a part of this happy ship ...
c. Make them easier for me to spot
If you reckon you'd like one too, then pop over to the Pirate Umbrella thread and add yourself to the list (need another 7 for a minimum order of 25). Looking at around £18 plus postage - full details on thread ...
Pingu when the weather thaws out we will have to arrange something.
I am thinkning of doing this route sometime, it goes quite close to you, could adjust it to pass yours easily. Route The route is from the Devils sportive and has a couple of hills in it
12.2mile run with Horse this morning all in Z2, 2hrs 4min, 10.04min/m it was cold but still enjoyed it.It was quite undulating so was happy with the time
well done Pix... resting today here, but up early to get ahead of the carnage on the roads. More snow tonight in Kent, although I suspect we are all getting used to it now so don't care.
Have a question about maintainance, or during race repairs specifically. I now have had a few punctures and know I can cope with changin a tube mid race but as far as anything else goes i'd be a DNF at the moment, other than maybe the chain coming off. My father in law is quite good at bike maintainance what should I know before race day. (Reading Holgs book at the mo and he fixed a broken chain....)

Well long run completed in lovely snow. Thought I'd get it in today as tomorrow it will be slushy and slippery and icy so feeling really virtuous
Rest day tomorow and really can't see the bike happening on sunday
I've only ever done 1 hour on the turbo...

Just had a really good 2.5 turbo session ... not quite the same a cycle in the mountains but giving the current weather it did just fine.
if you are south wales let us know for when we go open water swimming....if not then you are still welcome to join in our rides......
better wait till the snow goes though
Managed 2 hrs on the turbo yesterday. Boring. I had a flare up of the calf trouble that bothered me late last year so I was pleased to get off.
Ran 2 hrs this morning in the snow and ice. Fantastic to train outside. I sank waist deep into a drift at one point.
Resistance training
cross training digging our the cars
I am doing some single armed weight lifting - bottle of cider anyone?
Family day for me making snowmen.

They do have an in-race mechanic, who the marshalls can call to help you if you have an issue, they have certain spares.
is that a don't worry
Well 2hours solid on the turbo yesterday Boring. Couldn't have done any more. I love the snow, but.....please melt
So, there could be a lot of swimming this week, unfortunately. Might put the trainers on and see.
Got the only car in the house that will make it up and down the hill where I live so could be a bit of a taxi service for my family members.
TB I don't even know how to change a puncture or I probably do but it's been about 5 years since I did one that I could probably walk home quicker
