Map reading - what do you do if you have glasses only for reading?

Hmm, my eyesight is great for long distances but I now need reading glasses. Those of you who take to the hills in bad weather and need to micro-navigate, what do you do?
I used to really enjoy operating in any weather but to add to the faff of getting a map out now, I need to also put my glasses on, demist them and then alternate between looking at the map and the ground. What do you do, give up and not go out in bad weather of is there another solution?

hasn't the compass got a magnifying glass as part of it
I need reading glasses in everyday close up situations. Oddly enough, I don't really need them to read the watch when running.
But getting the glasses out to read is such a pain, as you can't focus on anything closer than 5 feet away.
